They could be landing somewhere close and then sending them via truck the rest of the way. Also, did you check multiple time periods on that site?

It doesnt even say a departure time. Last thing is location scan

Couldn't help but think of a song by one of my favorite bands: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guBXZimYmiE

Maybe I'll listen to it on repeat until my iphone takes the next step!

Also, it's worth mentioning that it could be possible that some have already left. I didn't get a departure scan out of Anchorage.

Yes! Thornburg is the last stop between me and my iPhone (I'm in Pittsburgh).

If you check iShip, you'll get more info than the UPS tracker.

Finally on it's way to somewhere near me (I think it's the same place where they dispatch the trucks for delivery).

Not sure if it's flying to PA or if it's on a truck bound for PA though.

edit: lightbreeze... It looks like our phones are traveling together...

well I'm excited for it, I was hoping to get it a few days later but as long as it arrives tomorrow and I'm there to pick it up I'll be happy.

My 4S seems to be taking an extended vacation in KY on its way to VA. :(

I'm thinking most of the packages will leave Louisville between 3-6 AM tomorrow morning, if they're going by air.

Flight out of SDF to CRW at 4:34am. Only flight coming close to where I live, oddly enough, its and Air Cargo Carrier plane and not UPS.

Yup! I'm guessing plane, then truck (really have no idea, though).

I wonder if UPS prepares for iPhone launch day like the USPS used to prepare for Sears Christmas Catalog day in the 1970s.

For me, the feeling of excitement is the same!

Thanks for the flightaware site, that makes me rest a bit easier... :)

I think Thornburg is the closest UPS distribution center to my house. There are others in the area. That said, I'm also guessing that either PIT or the Allegheny Regional airport are the cargo flight destination, in which case it would make sense for "Pittsburgh" to show up on yours.

Eh, I'm not worried. IME, anything that is sent to me via UPS either goes through Thornburg or New Stanton, PA as the final leg.

Mine finally departed Louisville as well. Left at 3pm EDT. Heading for Oakland now. Im watching it on Flightaware.com Its flight "United Parcel Service (5X) #2948" for all you West Coasters and Bay Area people in here.

being in Salt Lake I guess I will catch the next flight there..or LA

Even though I've signed many in the past and it's always worked, I talked to my UPS guy the other day to ask and he said hand-written notes are up to the driver in terms of if one takes it or not. I've done this in every part of Florida that I've lived in because I always work 12 hour shifts and I've never had an issue.

But you said the requirement of a signature in general was at the driver's discretion, not the acceptance of a note on the door. There is a huge difference. A note acts as a waiver, a decision made against policy by the driver does not.

I think Pittsburgh is close enough to Louisville that they are coming by truck rather than plane.
