Thanks arn.

What would be the rules to how we separate the threads that now exist in the Picture Gallery forum, since there'll naturally be some overlap.

Perhaps a general rule that if you are showing off pictures that you've taken of holidays, trips, fun subjects, they go in the Picture Gallery. Basically, things that most of the forum might have an interest in seeing or commenting on.

If you're showing pictures to ask for technical feedback or to illustrate the differences between two cameras/lenses, or you're asking for advice on techniques, purchase decisions etc, then it should go in the new forum. Basically, the questions that those who are interested in photography have an interest in while the subject goes over the head of others on the board?

Well if you are just sharing photos for the sake of sharing photos (Dr. Q's vacation) then perhaps the Picture Gallery makes the most sense. If I wanted to post images from a family event but was asking about lighting or framing, something like that, it would seem that the new Digital Photography forum makes the most sense....

Come to think of it, I guess that is exactly what you said/meant right? :p If so, I agree
