Who says you need to double tap anything. You can already swipe up on an iPad. So just make that for all devices. One swipe up, one over and you are in Control Center. If that's too much work for folks they have serious first world problems.

How is that better than just one swipe up though? :p

And why should we have to invoke the multitasking procedure to get into control centre? It just doesn't make sense.

It's like having to go through messages to get to the phone.. they're completely different and you shouldn't need to go through one to get to the other.

To you perhaps but to the vast majority, who are total non geeks, they view that bar as controlling what apps are running, controlling rotation lock etc. so the notion of controlling more things isn't that far fetched.

A lot of the OS has been redesigned and people will have to get used to that. With a redesign comes the opportunity to make better design decisions, such as the new control centre.

Send that to Apple asap

They check these forums, that is why I posted the tweet in here. Hoping SOMEONE over there makes a fuss about iOS 7 and how horrible/rushed it was.

A true disgraceful attempt from Apple.

The problem is not whether these icons are ugly or not... The main problem is the entire UI feels like it is designed for little kids or teenage girls...

Please please please, submit these to apple! the Icons look abazillion times better! Bar safari, and I just love the look of the icons so much more. I'm still not 100% on photos either however.

Why don't you wait for the final product before jumping off an effing bridge?"

Because by complaining now, maybe there's a small chance we can influence it, and avoid Apple releasing a travesty of a UI on their users.

I LIKE the fact that 93% of iOS users have the latest version. It would be a problem for me, you and everybody else, if there's a solid 20-30% in a year, who refuse to update to ios7, because the UI and UX is awful, and fundamentally broken.

The icons doesn't have nothing to do with the parallax effect :]

Supposedly as the phone is tilted the icons appear to pop out, and one way of doing this would be to create an illusion of motion parallax (e.g. moving the icons slightly relative to the background as the phone is tilted). I'm not quite sure how else they would use motion to make the icons distinctive. In any case, I'd be interested to see what people think of it once they actually try it.

EDIT: Confirmed that a parallax effect is used for the icons: here. Static images simply will not do iOS7 justice....

Yours is definitely better than the real one, but there are some mockups out there that are really good...just Google iOS7 and you will see some really nice designs.

Well it's a beta. It would be rushed if this was the GM but it isn't.

I absolutely agree with this imagination of iOS 7. It is exactly how I would design it as well, Control Center really needs a change.

Did Apple just lose all of their Designers and decided to ask every employee's kid to design iOS 7? That's what the home screen looks like.

Fundamentally broken? Are you high? Have you actually USED iOS 7 at all? The only thing most people are complaining about is the design of some stupid icons. That does not make an OS "fundamentally broken".
