They totally need the U.S. to keep their people working and the last thing they want to do is have millions of unhappy citizens wanting to oust their leadership. It's a big deal.
As if they even care about high unemployment rate across the board and widespread “lie flat” phenomenon. No, they don’t care. Nothing serious will happen outside of dropping birth rates. Yes they will protest. No they will not protest in the way you think.

Sorry Xi the Pooh but the days of your currency manipulation, ip theft from American companies, slave labor and treating the US as your doormat are numbered. This isn't Biden you're dealing with.

Trump isn't ****ing around with you jokers.
Sorry Trump, Xi the Pooh isn’t going to **** around with you morons either. They already got as much as they can and it’s time for them to further influence the global stage. Xi isn’t going to mind to “screw over United States of America” more and US will suffer greatly for their own actions just like what China will.

Deflection. And the assumption that if you’re against the Trump regime you must be leftist. No, all you have to be to be against Trump and his regime is a rationale thinking person regardless of what side of the political centre you are. Note there are a lot of people on the right also against him. And more and more voices are rising of those who regret voting for him.
The worst thing is it has turned Americans against each other and I believe that is the plan. We all need to stop and expect better leaders for everyone. People have to actually vote instead of marching after the fact. Now we’re faced with an irrational leader for 4 years. Maybe it will get us off our couches and back together but we will see.

Absolutely is the plan.

It’s a very old playbook. For those at the top, the way to stay there is to keep everybody below them arguing amongst themselves as opposed to focusing on taking down the people at the top, who are the actual problem.

Exactly that ^^!

1. That's not necessarily not America first. American DEI hires instead of non US is still America first.
2. Who would you say is the biggest beneficiary of DEI historically? Here's a clue, it's NOT a minority.
Here’s an another hint. When laws force a thing from a majority to a less majority it’s discrimination.

I think the point is these groups are necessary because of discrimination, not that they caused it.
Or the cure is just as bad as the disease.
What I notice about discrimination is that folks in groups not subject to it never see it as an issue.

Funny how that works.
Quite the broad sweeping generalization.

Absolutely. Being a white male it took me looking for it to recognize it. We tend to think our lives are just like others but if we put effort into it we see they are not. We begin to notice privilege. The next step is to do something about it which is why I am a member of our DEI group where I work. It would be nice if discrimination disappears some day but that is unlikely so the best we can do is be honest and open to helping those less fortunate through no fault of their own.

I appreciate what you are personally doing, where you're able to.

The one thing that I find totally unacceptable is any viewpoint that amounts to "discrimination doesn't matter" and/or "discrimination doesn't exist".

Both are demonstrably false and anyone defending those points is telling on themselves.

(I'm also a white male, reasonably well off ... basically not subject to any discrimination at all ... we have it good .. I wish everyone did.)

I’m not exactly sure how the discussion of being a social justice warrior fits in with this thread topic as Tim Cook did not virtue signal, nor does he and nor does Apple.

This isn’t PRSI it’s a thread about Tim Cook greasing the presidents hand. But oh, well continue with the off-topic discussion.

I believe you were the one who brought up DEI.

So you agree you were the one who started the thread in its present direction. Thank you.
Nope. I take no responsibility, as so noted in the posts, for that rabbit hole as it was one example out of others and wasn’t the main point. If I had said inflation it wouldn’t have gone anywhere but DEI is a trigger. Thank you.

I will take responsibility in helping to elect trump as the dems had to go.

That’s a false debating tactic. Ask a question instead of providing a discussion point to get another to do your “dirty work”. I’ll wait for discussion point.
No dude, I asked what nonsense, you provided an answer. I then asked you a question. Pretty straight forward.
If you can't answer, fine.
If you won't answer, fine.

If you asked a question then provide your views (because we each have views, right) on it and I’ll respond. If you can’t or don’t want to I respect that. But don’t expect me to respond when you haven’t provided your opinions.

Correct as a broader example imo of where or why the DEMs as part of a larger issue lost the election and why trump is now our president.
I don’t agree at all with your point of view, but I think you were answering a question and you’re entitled to your opinion. As is everyone who disagrees.
