503 Songs, 3 days, 2.77 GB. 100 of these are from iTunes music store, including a 27 hour (gasp) audio book. I have signed out CDs from a public library, ripped the songs, and returned the CD. Is that legal? Many of my songs were obtained in this manner.

I'm more ashamed of my one - 1 - Mel C song (from an Austin Powers OST - and yes it is unchecked), that is far worse than having a cople of Punk/Ska tunes... ;)

If you look at the rest of my Top 15, then LTJ isn't exactly out-of-character either... There's nothing like a cool punk band with a full brass lineup... :D
i only like proper Jamaican old school ska

92 songs, 6.1 hours, 407.4 songs. Not a lot mainly due to the fact that I usually burn and delete them.

none legal

900 songs, 3.85gb. of mostly my CD collection, and now I've been downloading iTunes purchases. At one point I would buy used CD's at the music store, upload them to my computer and return them for more.

The only thing I don't like is that I don't have an iPod yet and have to burn everything on my external drive or on my G5--neither of which I can carry around with me.

But I just got an email today in which Doug as produced a new Applescript for seperate iTunes libraries with their own preferences. Perhaps I'll get that so I can put my favorite tunes on my laptop.

Good to see a another Miles and Coletrane fan. I'm starting to build my collection of these two greats--it's the small, "best of" type right now.

I have Sketches of Spain (ok) and On the Corner (superb!) . I am also a big fan of Anthony Braxton: one of the few great jazz players of our time

4590 songs, 14:02:00:19 total time, 18.35 GB

I recently did a clean up so the auto-update would work for my iPod.

most common artist/band would be O.A.R. (Of a Revolution) at 368 songs, 1:19:12:08 total time, 2.36 GB. I also have 356 Howie Day songs, 1:08:04:09 total time, 1.74 GB.

I currently have 58 songs in iTunes. Purchased one album, the most recent "Harry Potter." The rest are free songs from Apple.

To your latter question, you have to log in, in order to download the free songs (with an Apple or AOL acct). So I think unless you find a way to fake it :) you cannot get the free music if you live outside the iTMS service area. :(

I just re-did the Internet ITunes Registry thing to find out my big artists. Most of them are opera/symphonic, which doesn't really address what I listen too most at the moment...Benjamin Britten, Gilbert and Sullivan and Giacomo Puccini, came in at the top. My top pop music, which is what I listen to more, were The Cure and The Smiths. None of my hip-hop records, but not such a surprise since most of the people whom I listen to don't have that many albums yet, except the Roots, and I don't own that many of their albums yet :(.

I like how the Registry also shows top artists by play. Utada Hikaru came out like 50% ahead of the closest second for me and I only have two of her albums. Guess now I know where I should be spending my money. :)

2433 songs, 7 days, 9.61 GB.

Biggest artist is probably Queen (all their songs) but I love the Eagles, Pink Floyd, Coldplay, among others.

99% ripped at 128k AAC from CD. The odd 'not strictly legal' song is mainly things like A team theme tune, etc. Will be using iTMS Europe next week.

27.65GB
7727 Songs

Radiohead leads the pack. But lots of Pink Floyd, Vangelis, Kraftwerk, Bjork, Low, Grant Lee Buffalo/Phillips, Paul Oakenfold, Flaming Lips, Miles Davis, and the entire Bible (Old & New Testaments)

I dig the eclectic-ism :)
