Does it last as long as you need it to for all day use? If so, keep. If not, don't. It's not rocket science. There is no normal amount of battery life even with just browsing because not all people browse the same sites or the same amount of them.

Give em a break guys, yes you are within normal range. You can rest easy. If you want more life try doing screen manual, and keep it as low as comfortable. It's easy to change screen brightness by just swiping up and adjust. If it ever falls off drastically just take it to Apple Store, they can test battery, to see if cell went bad.

I did "give him a break". I told him (or her, I guess) that their system was "within range", same as you. But apparently they need more reassurance than that.

For the record I trust Samsung more than TSMC. They're a bigger company. From that perspective I'm glad I got Samsung.

How can I test how many hours I'm getting?

I will tell you how I have been testing my Samsung iPhone 6s+.

Firstly, I observed an average battery usage on my previous iPhone 6+ during 5 days at work. I wrote down an average of those 5 days.

The next week, when I received iPhone 6s + I did the same thing - used it for a week and took an average of battery usage during this time.

Then, I compared both values and noticed, that 6s+ is as good or better than my previous, six month old 6+.

Happy and enough for me, don't care how tsmc is against my Samsung chip - my current phone is faultless!

I'm getting better battery life today. Will update later as to my numbers. Like I said I like the Samsung chip for the boost in performance over the TSMC. Every channel out there has shown the Samsung is a better performer.

The 0.0063% performance difference?

There is no difference between the chips. I have uploaded my usage today, iPhone 6s Plus Samsung.

How?

Is the 1.9h of Safari on screen since you unplugged, or is part of that 24 hours from a previous charge?

I can't get anywhere close to this kind of usage. 2h of safari takes me to 60% or so.

No that's unplugged. I'm getting insane battery life on my iPhone 6s Plus Samsung.

I wish I knew what the secret was. Mine was a fresh install, no restore, copied stuff from Android using the app.

Cannot get close to that.

I think some people who post extraordinary numbers are plugging it in at some point. It's very hard to believe that someone is getting significantly higher battery life than everyone else.

I will say for whatever odd reason my battery is crushing it today. I still have 75% left and have about 3 hours useage and 4 hours standby.

My guess is that I'm not streaming music as much today as I did yesterday. Again, I am on wifi. I know LTE drains.

Also, if you look online Samsung has a higher performance geekbench score across the board. It is a faster chip.

LOL Android mentality. Specs specs specs specs.

Well guess what all independent tests have pointed out that TSMC chips are better. And just because Samsung is a) a South Korean company or b) is a bigger corporation that enjoys years of government assistance and subsidies, doesn't mean that everything they make is a miracle.

If you plug your phone in after being fully charged, it states that under the Usage/Standby.

I wasn't able to find a single geekbench score online that backs up your statements. Not one. They all show the Samsung performs better in single and multi-core.

As long as I can go all day without charging, I don't care what chip or settings are on. i unplug mine at 6am everyday and plug it back in at 10:30 or so. I'm down to 20-50 percent depending on how much I use the GPS during the day.

Agreed. The problem is not everyone has the plus models. The 6s doesn't have as good a battery life. When I had my 6 plus charging battery was like 1.5 - 2 day event.

Forgive me for being promotional, but I thought it'd be helpful to mention my app, Battery Health. One of the unique things it does is it shows you actual energy usage for your phone in real time (in milliamps, see screenshot). If you could compare two phones, Samsung with TSMC, you would be able to get an exact sense of the efficiency difference, assuming there is one. It also does lots of other cool things that aren't pertinent to this current discussion.

Disable Background App refresh
Disable Mobile Data when not using it
Disable Bluetooth
Disable unnecessary notifications
Disable Calls on other devices
Disable Handoff / Suggested App
Switch off location services
Keep brightness between 20-30%

Bizarrely, I get much better battery life if I backup to iCloud, erase all contents & settings (wipe my phone) and then restore the backup I just did than if I leave things how they are.
This should actually make no difference whatsoever, but it seems that setting up as a new phone brings poor battery life.

I'm at 55% battery with only 4.5 hours usage and 7 hours standby!

I don't know happened. I really don't. This is so odd. I hope my battery stays this good.

That's very good for a 6s.
Must be your Samsung chip ;) tired of all this chip nonsense, especially from users who haven't even used an iPhone with both chips!

Because your power consumption depends on many things. Which is why it's hard to say what's "normal". But glad you're happier now.

I will say that doesn't sound normal. I generally eat 10-12%/hour of web browsing.

Do you do most of your web browsing on a weak signal? That could be your problem. The browser uses more battery while loading pages.

Everyone, I LOVE the battery life today! Seriously!

I'm at 11% and I have 8 hours useage and 11 hours standby.

Also, I streamed the GOP debate for a LONG time live (on Wifi but still a battery drainer).

I hope this continues...I have NO ideas why such a stark difference today. It's like a new battery all together.

Anyone have any ideas?

First one had a faulty home button. It only worked if you pressed the top right on the edge. Anywhere else didn't react when pressed. Worst home button ever.

Second one the screen kept dimming really badly and it looked a dark, smokey yellow when it did. Even with auto brightness off it did it, despite several restores.

Third one had major lag straight out of the box. As the others had been speed demons with zero lag, this bothered me massively. It also had an awful screen. Blue as heck, major dark binding effect at the top and I just wasn't having it. Took this one back the soonest of all.

Fourth one had a dreadful battery life. Almost in 6S territory. It had the best screen of the lot but no matter what I did, the battery life was terrible. It also lagged but due to the amount of restores I did to try and cure the battery issue the lag went away.

My latest one has another crappy screen, a Lightning port that is so loose you can't pick your phone up from the bedside table without the cable dropping out. It also has a very dark pressure point at the lower left of the screen. The battery life is phenomenal though and this phone is the fastest I've had. I'm sick to death of exchanging so might ask if the Lightning port can be replaced rather than the whole phone. Probably not...
Holy carp! I knew you had some bad luck but had no idea you'd had that much bad luck and those are completely legit complaints. Dude, you've got some awful luck with iPhones. I wouldn't blame you if you jumped ship to Android or Windows at this point.

What the hell is going on with Apple QC?

My husband loved his 6 Plus but has has problems with his 6S Plus. Mine is fine so far. I do run the battery down to 1-10% by the end of the day but a lot of that is on Facebook and FB Messenger as our family is using FB and messenger to coordinate holiday plans and visits these past couple of weeks.

When I don't use FB I delete the app and get almost two days using just the music and using it as a phone. I use Siri a lot, too. She responds well to my voice and because I am a mom so used to talking to toddlers, I know how to get the answers I want out of her. So I'm always seeking her input throughout the day. She's an easy interface to fetch the weather, sports news, recipes, calculations for tips and taxes and discounts.

I don't get phenomenonal battery life but I get through the day.
