Through a relative, as I was about to buy my first Mac. :)
Similar story, except I had sort of bought the Mac first. My cuzzo told me to check out this place if I had any questions. And ironically, I became a mod before he even registered as a member here. I guilted him into joining because of that. ;)

Well I was searching for reviews on the MacBook before I brought it so that I could see its pros and cons. MacRumors kept on coming up in Google search results under different threads. I was searching through the different topics and I liked it how other people were helping each other and giving good advice. And when I joined the Macworld expo was on so I couldn't help but to get involved in all the excitement. ;)

Looking for information on something and searched for it on a moderately famous search engine.

The thing was after I kept trying to go to Macrumours which does not work

I've always been an Apple rumors monger, and I'm not sure when I finally found macrumors. I read the main page long before I finally decided to join up on the forums.

When I was waiting for the iPhone 2.0 update, I googled to see why it wasn't working for me, and *bam*, up came a thread on it.

Been visiting almost every day since.

I was looking to pick up an iBook in summer 2001, and wanted to see if there were any rumors of new models I should be waiting for. So I Googled (or maybe AllTheWebbed) "Mac rumors" and that somehow pulled up this site, amazingly enough.

I lurked as a guest for a very long time though, and it took me until the launch of the original iPod shuffle in January 2005 before I finally decided to register and post. :)

Well I don't know iBlue all that well (and I don't believe she was thinking of titles), but I know $25 will get you the same/similar title :)
haha, no, I certainly wasn't referring to my silly purchased title. ;) :)

And you've been on e ever since

....but not the illegal drug kind of e, obviously.

What can I say? MR has been quite a ride.

I had found a reference to a screenshot of one of my systems in a thread where someone suggested that the image had been doctored. I joined to set the record straight.

After years of working with and owning PC's I wanted a change, found MR when doing research for buying my Imac. The amount of knowledge and help I could see given in the forums gave me the final nudge to go for it. Have never regretted it since.

I don't really remember, as it was like, 5 (!) years ago (yes, I lurked for almost a year before finally joining) s I don't really remember, but I think it was a link or something from Spymac.

I was a member over at Spymac first (that was 5 years ago, back when they were good).

Moderately filling, with just a hint of aftertaste.

I'm pretty sure I heard of MacRumors through the local user group some time ago.

I started hitting web forums a lot late last year, including this one. I used to think web forums (this was in the mid to late 90's) were for newbies but Usenet is just nuts and I needed another time slayer.

A small white rabbit led me here.

Did it have big teeth? :D

As for me I think my friend told me about it, oddly enough my first post was asking where to find a moving truck, or as Abstract referred to it "A white, unmarked kidnapper van." 1,188 posts later here I am!

My Dad started emailing me articles from MR. I started to read the site, and a few months later, joined. I doubt me has an idea of how much time I've spent here, though he knows I do participate somewhat. ;)

I'd say my general knowledge of all things Mac has increased threefold because of this site. :p

I've been a long time lurker (4 years now). Once I got the iphone, I decided that I could also help contribute one way or the other. Great forum!
