Gave them my first born and a future pick (kidney perhaps???). Just kidding, I normally use a credit card (gives extended warranty plus cash back) and then pay it off the same month.

The smartest thing would be to buy with a credit card that gives extended warranty (AmEx) and cash back. Then pay it off before any interest is due.

I usually pay cash but one MBP I used Barclays for the 18 month 0 interest.

I charge my purchase with an American Express and then pay it off. With using an Amex (or anything similar) I get an advantage of additional year of warranty coverage

I am very fortunate to have a great family that for my 25th birthday got me a i9/32/v20/1tb - coming from a 2012 rMBP. I work doing photography and graphic / 3D design for some pretty sizable clients and cant have a laptop that doesn't work as fast as I do.

Very happy with it and don't take it for granted for one second of any day that ill have it.

Same here I pay monthly for the extra warranty as well.

Hahaha I wouldn’t take that kinda cash money to store lol. I’d be fine until they asked me to pay. Then when I whip out that kinda cash money and hand it to them and they start counting or whatever that’s when I’d be scared lol like what if somebody tries some funny stuff
Yes, it’s possible, because when I bought the MacBook Pro, the guy said I was missing $100 and I’m sure I counted all $1,500 before leaving the hotel. If I do splurge, will ask the bank to temporarily raise the limit.

Like other posters I get reward points on both my business and personal credit cards. I then use the points to buy Best Buy Gift cards which I use to help purchase my Apple gear. My goal is to always cover at least 1/2 the purchase price with gift cards. I also wait until the model I want is on sale. The great thing about Best Buy is that they will match the price of any "legitimate" online retailer.

I would FREAK lol.

Gosh that would be horrible. If I count out 1500 at home and am sure it is in fact 1500 and then hand it over to dude and he says nah it's 1400...

Either I walk out thinking I just got robbed 100 bucks OR think that I'm paying 1600 for the computer.

Man that's rough :mad::eek:

Pay in gold and silver. Just hand them over one by one.

Hahaha here’s a thought...

What if Apple started accepting BITCOIN LOL

Like what if Apple got greedy and started accepting new payment methods such as

Applebee’s gift cards
Gold coins
Unfinished diamonds
Gasoline (with slight upcharge for handling)

Heck you could go in and be like “I got some gold coins, an ruby Tuesday gift card, a gold earring I found in a parking lot, and I even pumped you 3 gallons of gas to cover tax!!!!!”

And then Apple might be like “would you like apple care with your purchase sir”

And you can be like “how about beanie babies”

“Sorry sir beanie babies are not accepted at this location” hahaha

I'm sure that he is. A lot of people eschew debt. I personally hate paying interest.

Bitcoin has done a lot better than Apple stock this year.

I recently bought a 2019 MacBook Pro 2.6/16/256.

I ended up just paying cash for it instead of financing it and paying monthly or whatever.

I was wondering what other people do, as it can get pretty expensive!

I have paid by credit card (in full) anytime I purchased an Apple computer. (And usually bought Office for Mac and AppleCare as well).

But, but, but......surely a hotshot Wall Street trader wouldn't have noticed the cost - or puzzle over the means of payment - of a MBP?

The problem with credit cards that I have is the interest payments seem high even with one of those cash back cards.

What?

And I track the cost of everything. I would probably be considered cheap but at minimum stingy. I spurge at times though.

Anyone think The Apple Card will have a promotional financing deal like the Barclays card?

And you don't have - or cannot access - this sum by credit card without having to pay interest payments?

Seriously?

I have paid for - and paid off - my credit card within a month anytime I purchased a CTO maxed out Apple computer.

When did I say I don’t have the sum?

What I did say was CC interest payments just seem way too high for my tastes.

CC interest will always be high because that’s how banks will make their money. You only pay interest if you cannot make the full payment before the due date. However, most financing option like Barclays Apple Reward card has 0% interest if you pay the full amount before the end of financing 12-18 months. eBay/PayPal, Amazon and Newegg has their own financing option through their own retail card if you are trying to avoid high interest through their financing cards to get Apple products.

Wait what kind of rewards?

When you pay with credit card the merchant pays a fee to the credit card companies for the service. The credit card companies will give you a portion of that fee back as a "reward" for using their card (and making merchants pay them the service fee). Different cards give different rewards, but it's usually a few percentage points of what you spend.

I haven't bought a Mac in a long time but if I don't use a debit card, I'll use a credit card (for the rewards) and just pay it off right away.

Then pay the bill off at the end of the month and you won't have to pay interest on the balance.

That's what I do.

Always with a credit card backed by cash that's in the bank. Pay the card off immediately when I get home. It was hard breaking that mental barrier when I financed my first new car.

I gotcha yeah like sky miles or cash back or points or whatever.

I thought maybe you were talking about some other kind of rewards.
