Oh I will. :D

The mobile market is a different place now than it was a year ago... Apple knows the iPhone 5 is not going to do as well as the 4s did. At least not in the short term.

A big reason for the 4s success was allowing its sale on nearly all carriers. Hell, you can get a 4s on prepaids now.

Before it was ATT, then ATT and Verizon. Then you allows tens of millions of others to buy and it opens a huge market.

Those people are a year in, they're not going to buy off contract, so, the sales will not be what the 4s was.

Why do you think Apple stock is dropping today?

Wisdom tells us two things:

1. The iPhone 5 will disappoint.

2. The iPhone 5 will not outsell the 4s (at least within the first year).
Of course, you're conveniently forgetting all those people who bought the 3G, then the 4, and are now at the end of their 2 year deals.

iPhone 5 MIGHT not sell as fast as the 4S, but it won't be far off.

And I'm not sure exactly what "wisdom" tells us that the iPhone 5 will disappoint, but whatever.

EDIT. Actually, having looked at your post history, forget I said anything. Obvious t***l is obvious.

The fact that you use the term "whatever" to disregard my argument suggests you're not really concerned with facts here.

The iPhone 4 was released in June of 2010, those people are already past their contract renewal period and many of them have already gone with other phones... the 4S or the Galaxy S3.

The Verizon users didn't lock in until a year later, so they're still stuck for several more months.

Wisdom does indeed tell us of disappointment looming for one reason:

People expect revolution with Apple, well, those days are over, reality is setting in, the future will not be as bright as the past.

I fully expect Apple shares to be $350 or less a year from today.

As for being a troll, hardly, I'm just tired of the ********. I was a 4s fanatic from release day until about two months ago when I sold it for a Galaxy Nexus. I grew tired of Apples lawsuits and lies. The truth must be told.

So this will be the 1st iPhone that I will get at launch (hopefully). I'm using the 3Gs now and have been up for an upgrade since March/April.

How difficult will it be for me to get the new phone on release day?

Thanks

I upgrade each and every year. If you are serious, you'll stay up late until the Apple store comes back online and place your order immediately. If you prefer to order from AT&T, then do the same.

The bottom line is you best be sure that your account is current and in good standing with your carrier so they do not block the order.

If all is in order and you get in the moment they are put on the site, you will be just fine.

It's extra crucial this year as everything I've read suggests there is a component shortage which will impact the number of units they can ship.

Good luck. :)

Thats Apple PR trying to keep sales figures disappointment down in hopes of padding their stock losses.

Trust me.

Oh believe me I don't doubt that it could all be a ploy.

Apple is nothing if not clever, and a master at creating odds in their favor :)

100% agreed.

No matter how much I might resent their recent legal rampage, I must admit, nobody knows market manipulation as well as Apple does, they are an incredible sales machine! :apple:

Preorder early
The order process will take your info
And come with microsim

with the preorder, can I purchase full price?

Verizon allows me to charge up to $400 to my bill each month so I may do that and have the extra month to pay my debt

The pre-order process has been pretty easy over the past few years. My 4 was actually delivered a day early.

If you're talking about standing in line at an Apple store, there's no way to know until you get there.

Which shipping method did you use to get it early? Overnight?

Lol. You really believe your own BS? I suppose Apple planted the Sharp display story and Sharp didn't mind how it might affect their stock so just let them lie?

It's BS, it's marketing and PR. This is Apple at their finest... manipulate expectations, it's one thing they do better than anyone else out there.

Nope, you have just succumb to the groupthink that is internet conspiracy theory madness.

Not saying marketing doesn't spin, obviously they do. But people love to exaggerate the true amount and you've bought into the BS from the other side. Notice how you completely ignore the very valid points I made about how the news might hurt Sharp.....Apple's business partner. Sorry, but marketing departments don't do that.

The iPhone 5 will be VERY easy to get compared to past shortages... why? Because it's simply not going to sell as well as past models did.

Mark my words.

You're words are 'marked'...and, I'm not sure if it's the forum rules or not, but I'd be willing to bet a month's salary that you couldn't be more wrong. Mark. MY words!

No...you really ARE a troll! Period!!! I'm curious why you spend your time here, at a forum based on a product/company that you despise so? Why? Have you nothing better to do? You're a stock analyst, a market futurist...and you KNOW the '5' is going to be a dismal failure...yet you're posting on Macrumors.com. Why? You should go work on Wall Street---or are you still in High School/Junior High?

So many posts, like yours...immediately after the 4s launch spewed the same drivel. The 4s outsold EVERY phone, not JUST iPhone...but EVERY smartphone in the 90 days post-launch. I've had one since launch day, each iteration. Not only are the phones 'better' with each model, there's NEVER been a disappointment! Look...Mr isoft7, a phone can ONLY be innovated so far, then comes refinement. The '5' is looking great (I also own a Galaxy Note, and I'm fond of both OS'es), and it's going to sell like hotcakes. I guarantee it. Again...I absolutely will bet you any amount of money with thousands of witnesses. The stock has a significantly better chance of hitting $1k/share than it does dropping by 50%. Not sure which world or reality you're living in, but your pessimism is silly. You should find a forum/website of interest to you...like others, a quick scan of your recent posts shows who/what you really are

It's BS, it's marketing and PR. This is Apple at their finest... manipulate expectations, it's one thing they do better than anyone else out there.

No, again you're wrong. Take a basic business course after you graduate from high school. You'll quickly learn what marketing really is...customer service, design, functionality, post-sale support...and engineering that works as it's been described with re-sale to back it up.

In My Humble Opinion, you just do NOT get it!

He actually was different before. But now it's all sour grapes.

That's all they HAVE to do to sell an already sellable (is that a word?) product.

Oh, I don't discount the facts, there are certainly issues with certain manufacturers, but lets be honest, there are ways around that, especially with the purchasing power of a $650 billion dollar corporation.

My point is Apple knows the 5, while selling remarkably well, is not going to topple the sales seen with the 4s.

The problem is market expectation is ridiculously high, people expect the iphone 5 to be the next generation of mobile technology, and with that, bring record sales in a matter of days.

If thats not seen, stock holders who have already driven the value to a ridiculous high will get scared and sell.

Apple is calling the shot, wait and see.

You're totally within your rights to disagree, and have your own opinion, and to be honest, I respect that.

But, I disagree with you. I am confident in my opinons, the sales will not be what everyone is hoping for, and from that, the stock will drop.

Will it be the next day? Nah... but a year from now? Yes sir.

In just one years time, the entire mobile market has changed.

Apple stock to drop over $300 per share in the next year?

Yeah okay....

If that happens there's going to be bigger issues than Apple stock dropping that much

The stock is due for a correction. There's no justification for it's current value.

This may well be true. We'll see how the launch goes. But I completely disagree with your earlier assertion that Apple's PR machine is already predicting failure and making false claims putting the blame on suppliers. That's just really far-fetched.

If sales don't hit, will they spin it during their quarterly meetings? Sure,I believe that.

Analylsts currently have a 12 month goal on Apple stock to hit $1,111 (or close to that). Last year when Jobs died and the stock was in the $330ish range I thought there was no way it would continue to rise by much. I missed out on more than doubling my money because I doubted Apple. I still wonder how they can keep up this pace and hit over $1,000.....but I bet against Apple once and missed out...not sure I'm willing to bet against them again.

Oh, and I used to think that the price was ridiculously high, then I realized it's actually still undervalued.

The only people buying the 5 are people upgrading from the 4S? Interesting...

You have to look at the market saturation of mobile phones, my findings are that the overwhelming majority of iPhone 5 purchases are going to not come from new customers, but instead, return customers.

This is not only 4s, but of course 4 and 3 owners as well.

The problem is launch day owners of the 4 have experienced a renewal which was used to buy a 4s.

Time will tell us all we need to know, but the time isn't right for another iPhone 4s type sales run.

The 5 will sell well, of course, but not what we've seen, or rather, not an improvement over what we've seen in the past.

This is fair, absolutely. I also agree that the argument will be used should sales be far less than expected.

My thought takes it further in that I believe market research internally performed by apple has already suggested to them the sales will be less than the 4s, and as such, a blow to their expected quarterly results. They've already begun the spin.

Of course I can't back that up with ANY facts, so take it with a grain of salt.

As for stock value, I do hear you on that, I remember when apple shares were a few bucks, so, the transformation has been astronomical.

But, I do not agree with you in their value, it's inflated and will correct.

However, again, I could be wrong, I'm just confident in my opinion and plan to stand by them.

Oh absolutely, I'm aware of these predictions, and they very well made. I just don't agree with them. I recognize how ignorant that may come across, but well, all we can do is wait.

Oh, that makes sense, if you've owned a phone before, and possibly and iPhone, but not just the 4S, then you're a returning owner.

This is also an absurd statement, there are plenty of people that don't feel the need to trash perfectly function tech to upgrade every year. Keep on trying.

Of course I can't back that up with ANY facts

Possibly the most intelligent thing you've said, I can safely ignore you now.

You can fight a topic, or you can debate a topic... unfortunately, as with most all serious conversation taking place on the internet today, fighting is the only route people take.

Hear's an idea... Let's all stop feeding the troll. They feed on your anguish and frustration you'll never win or change their opinion as they are too narrow minded to listen and debate.

So let's leave him to spout drivel and just reply to comments relating to the OP's question. He will quickly disappear once he dosent get the attention he clearly is craving!
