An assistant "tap-to-trigger" then spoken instruction could work quite nicely.

Pity it'd be Siri, so rather than a volume change you would probably end up making a phone call to a clinic...

It can already do this. Double Tap to activate SIRI, then say "volume 50%".

Am I misunderstanding what you want it to do?

Ordered on 5/3/19, got a delivery window of 5/14/19 - 5/21/19...
Walked in the  Store moments ago and purchased the last one. And they only received three.

Sennheiser Momentum = waaaaaay better than these two

Yes and no. For sound quality, yes. For everything else, I don't think so. The PB Pro (mine arrived today) have superior battery life, superior fit and superior connectivity. I have the Senns too and they have many problems including the fact that the battery drains while they are in the case which is an unforgivable flaw for $300.

The sound quality for the PB Pro is good to very good but it definitely is not better than the Senns or the MW07 for that matter. So, it depends on your priorities. I'm going to dedicate the powerbeat pros to the gym and keep the Senns for situations where I care a bit more about SQ. But I don't think you can say the Senns are objectively better than the Beats. Also, if you use these in any sort of noisy environments, any edge the Senns have in SQ disappears anyway.

It's THE BEST noise cancelling headphones in the world.
Garbage? Ok! :)

Completely agree, best noise canceling headphones hands down. However, the call quality is absolute crap though the Sony's. For ANC headphones, Bose is WAY better. From what I have seen from the reviews, powerbeats seems to have a good call quality.

Bose is not way better, it's in fact inferior..

I had the Bose QC35, the NC was great, sound quality very average but extremely comfortable. Everyone was saying Sony has better sound and NC, including pretty much every review.

So eventually I bought a pair of Sony 1000XM3 and compared them side by side, it took only 10 seconds, Sony sound quality is superior like night and day difference..no debate.

NC in Sony is slightly better while Bose still has great NC.. but in terms of comfort Bose is much better. Sony earcups gets warm and overall feel much bulkier.

I sold the QC35 and kept Sony 1000XM3..because their sound quality is significantly better.

Oops, I didn't write my post very clearly. I agree with your post 100%. Had both and the Sony sound quality is much better. ANC is also better, but like you said, QC35 are very good too. Sony gets the win IMO in sound quality, a little better ANC, and better battery life. Bose gets the win in comfort. The earcups Bose use are awesome.

What i messed up in my post above, is that if you are making a phone call, the call quality of the mic on the Bose is better, which results in the person on the other side being much happier. The call quality on the Sony is decent, but Bose gets the win IMO as you sound less muffled to the caller. Since I rarely use over the ear headphones for calls, it's a non-issue.

Have you actually tried both? Or are you just being a snob audiophile?

OK, this is going to sound completely gross, but it works. The problem with cleaning AirPods is that wax accumulates in the very fine grating in the ear holes. I tried using q-tips, but it didn't work.

Here is what did. Clean any obvious wax out of the hole. I actually use a paper clip end to get as much off as can be seen. Then put your lips around the ear hole and suck air until it flows relatively freely. Yeah, it's disgusting. Then you can wipe your lips or tongue with a kleenex to try to regain your sanity.

I swear this works and when one AirPod starts to sound quieter than the other, I just have to suck it up (sorry for the pun) and clean out the grate.
Somehow sucking my own earwax (or anyone else’s for that matter) doesn’t sound like the greatest idea.

I received mine yesterday. I've worked out twice with them. They fit and feel better than AirPods. They sound better as well. I'm not an audiophile, so I don't know how to describe the sound---the word "deeper" comes to mind. Maybe "fuller" is the better word?

Anyway, the case is a beast and the case plastic feels really cheap---it doesn't have the heft or the solidity of the AirPods case. When you're paying close to $300.00 with tax, you want every part of the experience to be premium. The feel of the case is definitely not premium. That's the only criticism I have.

I'm happy with this purchase and might just start carrying these around full time as opposed to my AirPods (1st generation).

Sucking earwax is disgusting. I gently use a toothbrush. The material will flake and you can remove it. Don't go sticking pins in the hole.

how about QC 20's NC? Someboy says QC20 is better than 35.

Needs a microphone ...

Both have microphones. A mic hidden in the ear cup lets you take calls.

Nasty man, nasty. No. I just shuddered reading that.

QC20 are fantastic and still my go to for long flight. Between QC35 and QC20 ANC seems the same to my ears. Sony are the class leader and do ANC better. BUT...for long flight, ear fatigue sets in big time for me with the Sony's. The same goes for the QC35s but less than the Sony's. Biggest problem, at least for me, is trying to sleep with QC35s. The QC20s are perfect for that, plus very little ear fatigue with the glorious Bose eartips. Can't go 15 hours on a flight without some fatigue but QC20s are the best for me. Of course ear comfort, fatigue, etc is purely subjective. As for sound QC35 seem a little better over the Qc20s. I am no audiophile but I am sure there is testing out there that is more objective.

Had the original AirPods since launch and skipped AirPods2 and bought these to supplement them. The main reason for that is having a pair of pods for working out (visiting the gym regularly, and oh yes, sweat will be produced) instead of using my pods, since I'm not feeling 'ok' about sweat dripping on them.

It's probably different for each and everyone, but I like having both products there for different roles.

AirPods

The AirPods being there for easy of use in my pocket on regular days. It's absolutely awesome having them close by always:

Imagine going to the dentist, and have multiple people waiting...POP! plug em Pods in, tap em twice and lose yourself in the music.
Imagine turning off your engine, walking out your car to the supermarket...POP! plug em Pods in, tap em twice and go trough them aisles like a boss.
Imagine waiting in line for the check in at the airport, your NC-headphones in your bag and it's a hassle to take em out...POP! plug em Pods in, tap em twice and smile to the stewardess while gloriously flashing your passport
Imagine
Imagine arriving too early for your date...POP! plug em Pods in, tap em twice and hit on that other girl anyways while not even listening to her.

> Granted, all those imaginations can be done with regular (wired) headphones...but you can't POP! those in like you can easily POP! em Pods in, much less tap those twice!

Powerbeats Pro

While the PBP are there for working out/in my bag, it's revitalizing to know they're close by just like the Pods.
Unlike the video I managed to get them in quite naturally after the first time (maybe because of my POP! experience? The judge is still out on that one), but I wholeheartedly agree that they sound way better than the AirPods.
I have to admit it is mostly because of the PBP being in-ear as opposed to the Pods. Nevertheless I found in-ear to be a better solution—especially when working out—to zone out on the music.

I've never been one for using controls (except for the now famous "tap em twice") on the Pods, but on the PBP I've really come to like it—again because it's easier than using your phone while working out.
I literally forgot my phone once in the locker and managed to listen to music absolutely fine (lockers are close by). Because of that...'trick', I now leave my phone in the locker and just do my thing with just the PBP in.

---

In the end, it's just a luxury problem. If you got the Pods and you like them, you can manage without the PBP.
Unless you got the Pods as a gift and can convince yourself that it's therefore justified to buy the PBP with your own money this time.

> I do not speak out of experience, well okay, maybe a little.

OH!

Did I already say you can also imagine yourself sitting in that boring meeting...POP! plug em Pods in, tap em twice and pretend you're listening back an important voicemail while just blasting away on that new beat you found instead (forget you left the Pods in on purpose if people start asking them questions)?

I agree they have different benefits. I bought the PBP for watching movies on the plane or any session which requires more than 3 hours listen time, but I find the Airpods 2 are smaller and more useful for day to day use - always in pocket, great for phone calls.
