^ I like to quote from it. Love that movie! ;)

I would just calmly reply, "It's just MY opinion. Chillax. This isn't a religion. It's just a phone, man. Agree to disagree. Don't have a cow."

Cover your ears or eyes if a fanboy alert happens and you can detect it. Did the same when in line for Star Wars 7. Covered my ears. Didn't want to hear spoilers while in line.

Real-life, insecure, defensive, dense fanboys suck. Dealt with Kobe Bryant fanboys for years proclaiming he is better than Michael Jordan when LeBron James already surpassed him. But the movie, Fanboys, was hilarious.

I will check the movie out :)

I watched the video and I found it funny how he moved the S7 before it fully focused on the skull object.

Yes i can understand you like the s7 camera. But you aren't telling me to die. Massive difference
[doublepost=1474069662][/doublepost]Just not going to comment anymore it isn't worth the reactions. Or i'll just mute the post.

Well of course I wouldn't. First of all I probably have 25 years on the people telling you that and second it's just not classy and I'm a classy guy. :) Buy what you want and enjoy it. The iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7 are both excellent phones. Who really cares? Take care!

How do you deal? You don't.

Avoidance is the only sure way. Only frequent areas were it's safe, if you want to avoid trouble. Otherwise, you asking for it and it's actually your fault. If you can't avoid, don't engage.

Note: There's more of these sage thoughts available at a minimal cost :)

You don't feed trolls. You don't listen to fanboys because they won't be listening to you. Their hatred or obsession towards anyone or anything has clouded their judgement. Wearing rose-colored glasses with perfect 20/20 tunnel vision. Their opinions are dense.

You know how to avoid launch day rants? You don't buy or care for launch day iPhones.

You know how to deal with fanboys? You don't.

Hunt them down like the vermin they are, then call their mommies and have their internet privledges revoked for the week.

Really, there's nothing to respond to in comments like that-- no opinion to disagree with, no fact to learn or correct. It's just noise-- turn it off.

Heard an interesting discussion about teenage girls and instagram and how there's this weird social compulsion to comment on each other's pictures even if the comment is the same every time. The comment is just the carrier, the signal is in details like how long it took, and who's now watching who's posts and which get equally bland responses from the original poster.

The lesson I took is to not try and understand it, it's like talking to dolphins.

Your problem is, if you're going to comment on Product comparison videos, you really have to commit yourself completely and fully. You didn't do that and now you pay the price for your lack of vision.

If you're going to do it, the hate will flow to you. Embrace it and amplify it with comments such as "lol, Samsung camera. Enjoy your poverty phone, peasants."

Yeah. My fault for trying to get blood out of a stone I guess.

Not blood out of a stone, but the fact that by attacking the phone you are attacking their ego and their sense of identity.

If they are real teenagers, a disproportionate amount of their time will have been spent (or is being spent) in the construction of an identity, or - put more bluntly - in finding out who they are.

These days, part of that journey of discovery included defining yourself by the products you use, and investing your sense of self in these selfsame products.

Yes, it's idiotic, and sad, in a way (and a tribute to the power of marketing) but the vicious and visceral nature of some of the responses indicates that some who have responded possibly see your remarks as an attack on their core sense of self. Others probably just like engaging in online combat.

As for how to deal with it, unless you enjoy full scale online conflict, I'd suggest you walk away and forget about it, It is not worth fighting over.

After all, it is not as though you define your sense of identity in terms of what phone you use, or invest your own sense of identity in such devices, is it?

@Scepticalscribe hit it spot on. The extreme fanboyism (or fangirlism, or trans-fanboy/girlism) often is an immature attitude, inability to see things objectively, and combining the product with the identity.

If you feel personally offended that your iPhone's camera has been insulted, then you probably have some things to think about like...

1) Questioning an insult against your phone is offending your identity
2) Realizing there are immature people in the world incapable of communicating effectively and ignoring them is the best thing to do
3) Discussing technical issues in the appropriate place (hint: YouTube seems to have one of the worst collection of comments anywhere on the Internet)

Etc.

Don't bother with YouTube comments. Mind you, there's quite a few on this website going through a psychological meltdown because their shiny black iPhone 7s aren't as cool as they thought they would be. I was rather amused reading the whining of strangers who are to my knowledge mostly grown adults.

One, in my humble opinion, must be capable to step back from their mild predicament that's incredibly superficial to begin with, and focus on the reality of the situation. In other words, it's simply a phone and having a meltdown points towards other issues, psychological or otherwise.

A lot of people give us **** because we like Apple. Their loss honestly. Most people don't even listen to facts. Tons of people kept saying Apple removed the headphone jack and forced buyers to get headphones for $160. They didn't even acknowledge that we get lightning headphones and an adapter.

That isn't an improvement, though, now is it?

You don't have a choice :(. I would choose Go kill yourself ...But it's a matter of preference :D.

Seriously now. Ignore them. Fanboys will be fanboys and they will always try to protect their device. It's just insecurity and imaturity :D

The only opinion which matters is yours, OP. It might be a little painful or shocking at first, but let them rant there, here, anywhere. It is something to be expected if you post on a public platform, but the internet is full of folks who want nothing more than to disagree with others, just because they can.

At the end of the day does it really matter? Nope.

Enjoy your purchase and ignore.
