maybe i'm a bit of a masochist... *shrugs* ... but it's been MY experience that you just just sort of learn to live with it.
i also agree that a journal [of some type] is ALWAYS good for letting off a bit of emotional steam.
...for ME, a journal sort of takes the edge off the this old crusty personality. After 7 years of being crazy for someone and whilst in another relationship (for 3+ years) i ended up just telling her flat out that ive been crazy about her for this whole time.

cut a long story short i ended up growing some balls and leaving my horrid self-centered-stubborn-b*tch-food-ingesting-machine of an ex and after a few months ended up getting with my dream girl... but because i waited so long and was with my stupid ex and didn't just leave her when i wanted to (and grew the balls to leave her and her psychotic family) my dream girl ended up leaving me because i was too messed up, my ex made our lives hell and she didn't want to be in a relationship with someone who stayed with the same person for 3+ years but didn't want to. She didn't want that happening to her.
moral of the story is to just tell them and don't keep your feeling bottled up! If you wait too long it may no longer work!
