You know, I’d use more folders. But, I do not like when I exit an app from a folder, it takes me back to said folder, versus my home screen.

Weird, I know. But...

I don't like multiple pages and like to keep my apps to minimum, even rows are a must. I tend to go with multiple pages inside folders though.

One screen to rule them all. Most used apps on the outside. Folders on the inside.

Here’s mine.

I have fit everything into 2 pages for easy access.

1st page is my more-commonly accessed apps, which is a combination of social, reading, consumption and productivity.

Shopping is all the apps I use to buy stuff, from ride-sharing, to food ordering, online shopping, my loyalty programmes etc.

Entertainment has all my reading and streaming apps.

Productivity has my work apps, including my file storage apps, office, iWorks, Google apps and so on.

Utilities has my banking apps, and other misc utility apps like ad blockers.

Rest should be pretty self-explanatory.

I don't have many apps. I just put stock apps on the first page, and third party apps on the second. Most frequents in the dock. And games in a folder.

I do a mixture of folders and free apps. It amounts to several pages still 🙈

Finally, someone else out there that does this the same way I do!

By category, except for apps I want access to on any home screen. Those go in one folder in the dock.

First screen is blank. These are just the first few screens. Note…I'm jailbroken, which is why my layout is different.

First page is basically my most used Apps over the last 10 days, according to the Battery Settings. But I leave the bottom row free to add new Apps that I trial to see if they’re worth keeping.

Second page are the next most used Apps, with each row an attempt to stick to a theme for eg. One row is Amazon, eBay, PayPal & AusPost (largest parcel courier here).

Third page are categorised folders.

Could still be organised better....a work in progress...

By category!

I am a control freak and I like having my apps put in folders on their use case.
I have separate folders for:
  • Utilities
  • Travel
  • Photography
  • Social Media
  • Entertainment
  • Productivity
I use only a single screen to maintain all my apps. I like to see my pretty wallpaper more than the huge app icons.

Frequently used, then organized by folder. I’ve kept the same basic layout for so many years that I swiping and touching is automatic by now.

Here are the first three pages.CFE1074E-7E92-4989-90E7-176B044B439A.png15EDF84B-E94C-41EB-AA8B-1C7756DAC4E7.pngF3131060-726C-4DF5-94FC-C89D16B7CDA6.png

Mostly well-organized into folders when applicable. I won’t go past two pages so that forces me to either get rid of an app I don’t use or do more consolidation if I want to download something else.

Coming from Android and a fan of the most minimal and simple homescreens possible, iOS homescreen organization is rather annoying. After having gone through at least a dozen different organization and layout “techniques”, I’ve finally settled on a technique that works for me.

First page: Most used applications, loosely organized by the type of application.

Second page: The organizational page, organized in categories. The applications that are outside the folder are either newly installed or haven’t been categorized yet.

I don’t visit the second page very often, I’ve gotten in the habit of using Spotlight for most of my application / activity launching. Yes, I use Microsoft Edge.
