Right on. I plan to be taking a trip to Atlanta soon. Thank you!!

Not sure where in SE US you’re looking but....

Antico Pizza
1093 Hemphill Ave NW
Atlanta, GA 30318

There is also an Antico at The Battery Atlanta connected to the new SunTrust Park (Atlanta Braves)
The Battery is great place for shopping and eats even when there are no ballgames (year round)

My in-laws have that every year for Easter. Really not what most would consider pizza...it's like a manic quiche, loaded with a million unhealthy and delicious cheeses and cold cuts. Totally unlike anything at a chain or even local pizza place.

That was exactly what I wanted to know. I'll give them a try, though I'm more on the traditional american pizza side.

I for one am ultra conservative regarding my pizzas. ;)

Me too, there are some really bad pizzas out there.

I like 'em super weird! Usually I'll get anchovies if the place offers it. Just tried Mod Pizza, thin crust with anchovies, ricotta, roasted broccoli, roasted garlic, spinach, olives and olive oil (no red sauce)

So this afternoon I ventured out to Mod Pizza, thanks to the recommendation here, and had a delicious meal with all my favorite toppings!! This place has just jumped to the top of the list of my favorite places to go for Pizza in my area....... :) I really like the thin crust and the incredible number of choices one has for toppings -- not to mention the amazing speed with which the pizza comes out of the oven! Price is right, too!

Next up in the pizza-tasting adventures will be Mellow Mushroom, which is a bit further away, but I want to try it, too.

Having whole small Octopus on your pizza was different for me. Tasted fine though.

Is MOD the same chain that does pizzas you can order, wait an hour and then pickup to cook at any time or freeze? They're very popular in Washington, where they're from. I first came across them in early 2015 reading a blog post.

MOD is similar to other "fast-casual" restaurants like Cava Mezze Grill or Chipotle, where one goes in and the server creates the pizza as the customer selects from a variety of choices in the kind of crust, toppings (meats, vegetables, cheeses, sauces, etc.) and then pops it into the oven. The customer pays at the register and a few minutes later picks the pizza up at the counter when it's ready and can either eat it piping hot and fresh right there at the restaurant or take it home. I chose to eat mine there yesterday, and then grabbed a box from the counter and brought the rest of my pizza home. (Tonight's dinner!) They also offer salads (again with an amazing variety of toppings) and beverages). I think desserts, too, but I didn't really pay attention to that. And, yes, I believe they did originate in Seattle, Washington.

I've never had octopus on my pizza but have seen Grilled Octopus served in Italian restaurants, including the pizza place that serves the wonderful Neapolitan Margherita pizza I mentioned earlier in this thread. Last time I was there one of my dinner companions ordered it and it looked delicious.
