I like my pizza soft, with lots of tomato sauce. Room temperature. Chains: Pizza Hut, Costco, Domio's and sometimes Sam's and Papa John's.

If we're in the mood for a sit down with some amazing beer *and* a specialty pizza, it's Mellow Mushroom (awesome ingredients, fresh, consistent)

If we want pizza at home, we pretty much only do really good NYC style from a local place, family from Brooklyn, brick ovens, perfect amount of herbs, keep it simple with onions, shrooms and maybe a meat (~2 miles away at the marina).

I like pepperoni and sausage occasionally some olive and mushrooms.
Chain delivery pizzas Dominos. Semi fast food Blaze pizza is pretty damn good.

I was in Malta (just south of Sicily, Italy) last summer and had pizza with egg on it. It was delicious.

Deep dish with pepperoni/sausage, onions, and hot peppers. Mmmm. Also love Sicilian.

Mostly Pizza Hut, historically regular crust with Italian sausage and mushrooms. Lately for calorie considerations, have switched to thin crust which is not as good, my term: cardboard pizza, but is acceptable considering I don’t need the bread.
I can’t vouch for the accuracy of these links. I would have thought the calorie difference between thin and regular (hand tossed<- I bet they don’t even toss it. :p) would be greater.

On a Friday, open to anything without meat toppings, through the mouth, out the butt, into the sea. Thumbs up.

Favorite Big Chain: Papa John's
Favorite Pizza from there: Tuscan Cheese with no other toppings

Favorite pizza ever: One of my dads clients opened a pizza place with his chef near Jacksonville, FL. Their St.Louis style pizza is the best. :D
As a teenager working at Pizza Hut... I need to say that Papa Johns is BAD!

My favorite pizza is usually homemade these days. Smoother.

There's a package of thin & crispy pizza-bottoms to buy.
Not like those fluffy things you buy, but they works fine.

Vegetarian pizzas, with different toppings.
But almost every time a mountain of ruccula over that.
YUMMY.

I like 'em super weird! Usually I'll get anchovies if the place offers it. Just tried Mod Pizza, thin crust with anchovies, ricotta, roasted broccoli, roasted garlic, spinach, olives and olive oil (no red sauce)

Ooh, that sounds like a pizza I would LOVE!!!!

ETA: It belatedly dawned on me that "MOD Pizza" was the name of the place, and when I looked it up, sure enough, there is one in my local area!!! I'll be trying it out very soon.... along with Mellow Mushroom Pizza (obviously not on the same day or even in the same week!).

ETA again: Isn't it really cool that on a site devoted to tech products we can also find recommendations for good places to get pizza, not to mention discussing other interesting topics?!!

My wife and I like a regular pan pizza, either a deluxe with all the toppings (pepperoni, mushroom, green peppers, onions, black olives, sausage), or pepperoni with pineapple. We get it from a local pizzeria. We left the chain brands a loooong time ago.

I love the crust, sauce and vegetables on mine. I skip cheese unless it's that super fresh buffalo Mozzarella.

I sadly have not tried a lot of the gourmet pizza here, but there was a place near my former job that served great grandma pizza.

Chain pizza, hell no.

Frozen pizza: Amy's makes a killer cheese-less roasted vegetable pizza.

I've noticed a little quirk in the ordering process when verbally ordering one of my favorites, which is Canadian Bacon and Onion.

If I order "Canadian Bacon and Onion", I only end up with what I ordered about 10% of the time. The vast majority of the time I end up with Canadian Bacon and Pineapple. This is an abysmal accuracy rate for ordering.

If I order "Onion and Canadian Bacon", I end up with what I ordered 100% of the time.

Interesting phenomena in how people listen and hear things

Or the amount of people who actively want pineapple on their pizza. Don't even get me started on dessert pizza or dessert pasta.

A few months ago I went out for pizza with a friend and was really horrified when she ordered pizza with pineapple and ham. UGH...... Oh, well, we all have our own distinct tastes.

Many years ago I really enjoyed something that I haven't had since (the restaurant has now gone by the wayside), and that was, at the conclusion of a very nice and fairly traditional Italian meal, the offering of Raspberry Pizza for dessert. I absolutely love raspberries and the idea was really tempting, so went for it, and it truly was delicious and very different. Would I order it for a meal? No.....but as a unique and delightful dessert once in a while, yes, it was terrific!

Has anyone here had Pizza Rustica? How does it compare to the big chains?

I love that place! We went to their location in Columbus Georgia and absolutely loved it. The place was packed and the pizza was outstanding!

On the west coast, if you are in the Santa Barbara or San Diego area another really good pizza place is "Woodstock Pizza". Their pizza is pretty darn good IMHO. I also really dig their chocolate pizza dessert! Gooey goodness!
