Hey does anybody know how to make their Mac look like Vista?
*fingers in ears* la la la la la *fingers in ears*
Ee gads, why?!?
Install Boot Camp??
I think what you see is Vista actually running on a MAC.
I can't say anyone was dumb enough to make a theme like that, at least I sure hope not... Yuk!
The whole point of the mac os x is to get away from the horrible OS experience that is windows.
Yesterday, I wrote to Vogue: How can you make one of their models look like Miss Piggy with lipstick on? So far, they didn't reply.
True, but no one has to know that. It can be his little secret.
Besides, his question was how to make a computer look like an operating system.
there are limited theme functions in OSX, and you need to pay to get a little bit more. There is no way to mimic Vista's window frame, pathbar, start menu, task bar, etc.
OMG. Why on earth would you want to turn OS X into a lookalike of that inconsistent, incoherent and downright fugly collection of mis-appropriated GUI elements?
Put yer analyst on danger money NOW, baby!
I don't see what the big deal is. All he's looking for is an Aero theme. I don't think any exist for Leopard yet, and even if they did, do you have to use it? No, you don't. So get off your high horses and realize that not everyone is happy with Apple's GUI decisions.
Abomination I tell you!
1. Install bootcamp
2. Buy 700$ vista ultimate super duper cost you your first born edition
3. install vista
4. enjoy windows vista look on your mac!
seriously, there are people who are working on an aero/vista type theme for mac but none are working AFAIK
its easier to get a $109 version of Home premiere from newegg.com, or if you insist on Ultimate version, newegg.com has it for $169.
who is making an aero/vista theme for mac? care to share a link?
I'd cover my MacBookPro with a load of badly coloured stickers to make it look like an HP, corrupt some important system files and force it to crash every few minutes and remove all the driver files so nothing worked properly. Then I'd sit back and watch. OK, so it's not really Vista, but it's pretty damn close.
Sorry, I can't help myself...
My husband has a computer with Vista. It is ugly, ugly and even uglier.
If you google Macintosh wallpapers you might find something you like better to look at. there is one out there that is my favorite.
It is the Blue screen of death. That is hilarious. It reminds me why I went to macs to begin with. Have fun hunting.
you still can't play game tho. nor can you run some windows specific apps such as dragon naturally speaking...
It's possible you know, heard from a friend, he customized his Mac, looks really cool now, but really laggy
Edit: Here's a Vista theme, looks really ugly, but thats only one Vista theme...
Well then he has the perfect and real Vista experience
No, that's a Vista machine with a Mac theme.
No way man, did you see the dock
Edit: Okay there IS Vista on the Mac in the image
Unless this is what the OP originally meant and got confused?
Found this XP theme instead from the Neon Forums, here's what it has when you download it, you need like 3 softwares (ShapeShifter, Safaricon, Skin A Dock,) for like the Dock, Safari and so on...
OK, so cover it with badly colored stickers and run Boot Camp then.
Dude I don't want to run Boot Camp, I just want the theme
Err.. Thats not OSX with Vista theme, its Vista running Stardock using an OSX theme. Stardock only runs on windows.
