I know exactly what you mean! I bought my Macbook from there and the drive is about 30 minutes. I actually opened the box in the car I was that excited :D

I put my iMac box on the back seat of the car and was in two minds whether or not to put the seatbelt around it!!! Hahaha! How sad is that?! :p

I'll never forget walking out of the Apple Store and through the Trafford to the car park I bumped into a girl I used to work with. Bear in mind I had that HUGE, WHITE box with iMac emblazoned across it when she asked 'So what you here for?'

'I'm shoe-shopping, Sherlock.'

My nearest Apple Store would be the one in Chatswood (which, sadly, I haven't been to yet!) That's about 25 minutes away.

The Apple Store in Sydney CBD is about 40 minutes from my place if the traffic is good! And in Sydney, right in the heart of the CBD... it's normally not so good.

My closest in UK is Southampton, West Quay... now.. adding the traffic, it might go over over 2 hours... :/ I'm stuffed!

We are a highly urbanized lot it seems.

Closer than an actual Apple store, I have a pretty good independent Apple reseller about 10 minutes from home.

I have 2 Apple stores both 2 blocks away in opposite directions, I can walk to either. However, in the San Diego area, we have I think 5 Apple stores.

I've got 4 within 20 minutes:

  • The Grove
  • The Beverly Center
  • Century City
  • 3rd Street Promenade

And 2 within 30 minutes:
  • Sherman Oaks
  • Manhattan Beach

I'm surrounded!

When I live in Japan, the Osaka branch is less than five mins walk for me. It's quiet literally down the street! During the night, I can just see the glowing Apple logo if there's no leaves on the tree!! :) There's a 24hrs McDonalds near enough next door!! Handy for a late night snack after a long night's boozing.

Now I'm in the UK, the local Manchester branch is about 20~25mins away by car/motorcycle!
Trafford Centre branch is umm.. maybe about 30mins away?

You are a slut :D

About 20 mins from me, South Coast Plaza probably the closest.

Hehehe

Well, I haven't been to the Manhattan Beach or Sherman Oaks stores yet..... so maybe I'm just going for that slutty image......:D

Westwood is a nice central West LA location to live in...... 20 minutes from everything.

According to AroundMe (iPhone app) I am about 2151 kilometers away from my nearest Apple Retail store (Sydney, Australia). I live in New Zealand, there are no official Apple stores but there are many 3rd party retailers within a half hour drive.

Under 30min by car or bus, depending on london traffic.

Westfield shopping centre - White City, about 20min quickest

Brent Cross shopping centre, about 15min quickest

They're my closest stores.

I would say regent street is a little out of my way, or rather too much hassle...with the congetion zone an all:D

The closest Apple store to me is in Atlanta, GA... and it's about an hour and 20 minutes away. I'm ready for Chattanooga, TN to get an Apple store so that I have one only 15 minutes away.

My nearest 'Authorized' Apple Store is in Roma, Italy which is ~1300miles away.

There is a shop about 7miles or 45 minutes driving time in downtown Cairo with an Apple logo in it, I haven't been in though to check it out because there's no place to park and if you've ever driven in downtown Cairo you'll understand why.

Three more years, then back to the states!

Patrick

This poll has me wondering if urban dwellers with Mac stores available are more inclined to buy one than rural dwellers because of the proximity of service and support concerns. I just wandered in to our local Mac store on a trip there with a neighbor and it was quite a different experience than the one I made to a local reseller to actually buy the machine.
