How fast is Apple's shipping??

I bought a new BTO 15" macbook pro the evening of June 8 with regular shipping. The delivery dates were June 11- June 16. It is June 15 today, and my macbook is still "in transit, package available for clearance" in Anchorage, Alaska. My itouch got here today, but it took 4 more days to get here after it left Alaska. (They both came from China)

Right now the delivery date reads Wednesday June 17, but it seems like it will be more like the 20th....

Maybe this is petty complaining, but I am leaving town for a week tomorrow and I really wanted to bring my new computer with me!


Is there anyone who can speed this up or is it possible to get some sort of compensation for the extended time it is taking??

Mine did this, too. I ordered it the evening of Tuesday, June 9th and it's still being held hostage in Shanghai somewhere. My original dates were June 11- June 17 but the FedEx tracking reads Estimated date of delivery as June 18th... If my computer didn't leave China by the time I wake up at 6 am tomorrow morning (6 PM Tuesday in China) I am going to give FedEx a stern talking to and hopefully I won't have to do this. Something isn't right.

Call up Apple. 1-800-MY-APPLE and ask 'em why you didn't get it... that's ridiculous.

Ok So I took your advice and I called Apple. After being on hold for 15 minutes, I finally got someone. She told me that I was auto-enrolled and that in 2 weeks I would receive a letter in the mail saying "Welcome to Apple Protection." She said if I used my applecare online I would already be in the system, but that if I went to a retail store I should bring that letter as proof. So anyone else who had their order status moved to "completed" on there applecare, this is the response you will receive. Glad this issue is resolved. AND now my printer is coming in so I will be able to start my rebate process!!!!!
Thanks for all of the help. And good luck with you guys in getting your computers in. I had a friend who ordered one and waited and when it finally got here it was dead on arrival and so she had to send it back. Now her wait is like a month! So unfortunate.

My Situation

I bought my MacBook Pro Thursday, June 11. On Monday the ipod was listed as shipped and tuesday the macbook pro was shipped. Unfortunately, the ipod was listed by fedex to come on friday. the macbook was listed to come on thursday. now they have completely retooled the calculations and the ipod should come thursday and the macbook pro next tuesday, when i cant get it because im out of town....great.

FedEx = Worst service ever!

Apparently, UPS is "overachieving" at the moment and Apple had to delay iPhone 3GS shipments

I'm also waiting for my BTO MacBook Pro...

I ordered mine on June 13 and it will and should be arriving today according to FedEx tracking, June 17

So... its only 4 days and it is shipped from California and I live in Washington State also... so it may take longer or even shorter depending on where you live.

Cuz I think mine has been transit on a truck all the way, so if you live in NY then they would fly it out of California to NewYork i beileve.

I ordered my Macbook Pro 13" BTO 500GB HD and iWork Pre-installed on 11th and mine shipped on 14th but has only just got to Alaska so tomorrow FedEx has to get it all the way down to Florida for delivery on Friday!!! 8 Days!!!! Thats a long time to wait for the hopefully the best machine ever(my first macbook by the way)

Today my iPod got here, as forecasted. My macbook pro was in Alaska yesterday, but apparently the ipod was there yesterday too. Following this logic, it should be here tomorrow at the latest, but the forecast says tuesday???

Damn I feel bad for some of you guys.
I ordered my 15" 2.8 MBP on Tuesday at midday, as of 3:30pm on Wednesday it was "not yet shipped".
I checked again at 4pm and it was "shipped" with a possible eta between Friday and Monday.

I live in Melbourne and because it wasn't BTO it was shipped from Sydney.
It was delivered to my house at 3pm Thursday!!!!
So I'm very happy now, and typing this post on my new MBP
