Ok I've read all of those. It still doesn't proof what the original guy says about "Apple announcing". I realize Apple doesn't announce stuff. Don't tell me you're talking to the wrong person...

How future proof is the 5C?

I regret getting the 5 only because it doesn't support lte advanced. It was a huge jump from the 4 and I'm extremely happy with it. I expect it will keep up with the 5s for quite a while. I think the 5 is advanced enough that it will take a lot to cause it to be a slow device like the 4 is now. Just my own opinion. To answer the op question I'd say that the 5c is definitely more future proof than the 5 due to supporting lte advanced.

5C doesn't support LTE-A. Neither does 5s.

The dual core CPU wasn't the the "monumental upgrade", it was the dual core GPU, effectively making it the most powerful mobile device for the next 1.5 years of it's introduction (the GSII and most variants of the GSIII could barely touch it). The CPU isn't that much of significance, Apple just slapped two A4 together to produces a dual core (that is a simplified version) CPU. While there was a 2x difference in CPU performance, there was a 7x difference in GPU performance, which probably is the biggest reason why the iPhone 4s is quite usable by today's standard and the iPhone 4 has difficulty running the graphic heavy iOS 7.

A4 is Cortex A8 while the A5 is Cortex A9. Two completely different CPU's.

dude, the iPhone 4 came out in 2010. It's a miracle that it's still supported by iOS.

Best Android phones in 2010? Droid X, HTC Evo, Nexus One, Galaxy S...none of these even support Ice Cream Sandwich which came out in 2011. As slow as the iPhone 4 is with 7, keep in mind that with it being able to upgrade to 7 means it can still make use of the app store properly with all apps, something even a 2 year old Android phone has trouble with.
