I found it was the other way, my computing habits changed until one day I saw that a mac suited what I wanted more than my previous linux computer (which was previously a windows machine)
I stopped playing windows games, and started dual booting linux. I found I wasn't using windows and eventually ditched it altogether. I realised I was no longer into constantly upgrading my hardware, and while I enjoyed the tinkering, I no longer had time for it. My computer had gone about 5 years without a hardware update and instead of the upgrade, I decided to take the plunge on a G4 mac mini.
Will something supersede OS X for me? Probably, but nothing that's on offer right now, unless my computing habits drastically change again.
