....That said, if you had upgraded me from 7.0.4 to 7.1b2 while I was asleep and not told me, I don't think I'd know it happened. There's nothing insanely different.

But after you spend a few days, you'd definitely notice it if somebody downgrade you to 7.0.4 while you were asleep.

I see a lot of people say the same thing on other updates such as they don't notice any differences between ML and Mavericks until they downgrade to ML and noticed it was just slower and crappier. Just as 7.1 will be for majority of folks, no noticeable differences but if they were to go back to 7.0.4, they'll feel it.

Strange how that works out.

What I mean is I wouldn't go "someone changed my operating system!" so much as "hey it's a little snappier".

It's basically 7.0.4 with some optimizations and a little tweak here and there. It's really, really good, but to me 7.0.4 was really good. Adding a "really" doesn't constitute a night and day difference.

Happy I did it though. On my phone and tab.

Keyboard rotation lag

7.1 Beta 2 still have keyboard rotation lag?

For instance, you go to "Messages" or "Whatsapp" and while you type something and rotate the iphone, it lags. Both iPhone 5 and 5S on 7.0.4 have this keyboard rotation lag.

please apple implement some kind of swype :(

That would kill Android for me. Probably the ONLY significant problem I have on iOS vs Android is that I can't get a trace keyboard. Don't get me wrong, Apple's predictive keyboard is downright amazing, but if they implemented THAT autocorrect engine in a trace keyboard? Man.

Uh, elaborate? I've been rolling on 7.0.4 problem free for the last two and a half weeks.

Problem free ? Are you using Safari ? In iOS 7.0.4 Safari is somewhat buggy in memory management.
With Mercury Browser I solved 90% of my issues ...

You know I didn't experience issues with safari on 7.0.4. Not to say that it was 100% crash free, but Safari has never caused a crash. Actually Pulse has crashed many times while surfing articles with their browser... Could be webview but Safari is 100%.

The only problem Safari ever had was the tab reloading issue. Other than that, never a single crash.

On my iPhone 5S everything just works fast n no crashes. Love it. Hopefully beta 3 bring something new like editing the control centre or adding more features with the touch id.

I do agree, but the problem is exactly that !
The tab reloading is done because Safari is eating up a lot of memory (compared to mercury browser the ratio is almost 2:1 !) and this could end in a crash for some users and in tab reloading for others.

Sure, but what I'm getting at is that it's... an issue, but a relatively minor one. It's good that it got fixed in 7.1 but it's a far cry from 7.0.4 being some wasteland of bugs and crashes.

I haven't any other complain about 7.0.4 so far ...

For some there have been more/bigger/frequent issues though so 7.1 might be a truly noticeable improvement for them.

And it IS an improvement. Just not, in MY experience, a night and day situation. More "the same but a little better".

I just put this beta on my device. Damn is it fast and smooth. Battery life is great as well. Haven't countered any big issues yet.

While for others who have been having crashing and/or respring issues more frequently it can perhaps be a much bigger improvement (perhaps not "night and day", but quite possibly quite a bit more than just "a little better").

So are you guys with iPhone 5's chancing it and doing 7.1b2 with expiration removal?

I think 7.0.4 (was) buggier than my iPhone 5 on 7.0.4. Namely, safari crashing.

But still might dabble with iPhone 5 on 7.1.

I don't have an iPhone 5 - I've got a 4S, 5S and iPad 2 and have loaded iOS 7.1 beta 2 on all of them and it has been a night and day difference for me compared to iOS 7.0.4.

Only one repeatable crash thus far and that's with Settings-> Notification Center-> Today View section.

I actually believe 7.1 beta 2 is faster in many ways than iOS 6.x.x.
