I still get random resprings and it's rather annoying.

Especially when it's happened twice when I went to take a call waiting.

Doesn't your Safari crash everytime you try to open a 2nd page? It does that on my iPad air, EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Hope 7.1 fixes that.

I don't really find it to be THAT different. Animations are slightly faster, though many of us won't notice with reduced movement on.

Little bounce when you open the notification and control centers. Most of us won't use the features to outline buttons or dark keyboard.

Otherwise I notice no major difference. 7.0.4 worked great, so does 7.1b2.

Good to know. I actually don't really notice it very often on my iPhone 5, but the iPad Air's behavior is so consistent.. (on my iPad Air, freshly booted, open Safari with no pages open, click on the tab button and it will crash every time).

In any case.. it's very good to see that memory management is better. Can't wait to try it out myself after it gets out of beta!

On the 5, absolutely excellent - see for example https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/18522600/ . Stick with 7.1b2.

While I couldn't test this myself, based on the results I've got during doing my benchmarks (see link above), it should.

Thats a hardware issue with some screens.

People used to say the same thing about the gyro being off and apple fixed it with a software update. However I am not counting on them fixing it in the same way, it doesn't hurt to hope ;)

I'm starting to itch to install this beta - I was hoping to hold out until Beta 3 but it's taking forever. What are the major issues still plaguing B2? Is it stable enough to rely on?

I have noted. When on IOS 7.1 beta 2 that your iPhone. Gets a little warm. On the back. But on iOS 7.0.4. The back of your iPhone is fine dos not get warm at all I have. Downgrade. My iPhone and iPad air back too. IOS 7.0.4. Has am. No longer planing on. Using my window PC. Has soon has I got in my ipad air I have start started using my window 8 PC less and less two even not at all any more My ipad has replace. My window PC.

How do you remove the beta expiration? I want to jailbreak 7.1 beta 2 but I don't want it to expire on me and then lose my jailbreak altogether after apple stops signing 7.0.4 and patches 7.0.5 and 7.1 beta 3.

Yes, rock solid on my iPhone 5 for weeks on end now. Not terribly solid on iPad Air yet. Still a few re-springs, and a full blown kernel panic once (complete with blue screen / grey screen scroll like on the Mac minus the restart text). Usually happens with high memory games running like Oceanhorn and Xcom.

Nothing major and yes, very bery stable.

I can tell you its not. That is a common issue dating way back with previous iOS's when for example the mail app gets hung trying to send/receive. Or a GPS app hung up. Any number of things like that will cause this issue with any version of iOS. Its not pertaining to iOS 7.1 b2 only. I for one have not had that particular issue with any version of iOS 7 including 7.1 but did have it a few times with iOS 5 and 6 forcing me to perform a reset network settings to to resolve it.

Cant say I have seen anything but good things said from iOS 7.1 b2 users so far.

Thats a hardware issue with some screens.

It seems most of them have the problem, from statistics...

Someone posted a link to http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.php which explains the issue. Apparently, the problem is due to voltages not being tuned very well for the pixels in the screen. I guess this can't be fixed with software...

I'm a bit puzzled now. I used to be able to see the screen flickers and vertical lines, particularly in blue areas, a couple of days ago. At least I thought I did. But I couldn't feel any flickering or see any lines anymore. I don't want to look for trouble and keep staring at the screen from close angle. Hopefully the problem is indeed gone for good.

This issue has plagued mobile devices for years. Ive tested and have had 1000s of mobile devices and many of them had this issue. Blackberries were some of the worst. I had it on a 3GS, and iPhone 4 that I replaced and the replacements were fine. I have not seen it on a 5 or 5S yet but I did have it on an iPad Air I exchanged. Yes it is some sort of tuning issue with the voltage. Ive had friends that can't see it but once seen it can’t be unseen.

Im not confident this will ever be fixed via software as it never has been done with other phones/manufacturers to my knowledge.

++. I've stressed tested at least two iPhones and an iPod touch with this beta version (gaming, using GPS, etc) , did not find it any more warmer than previous versions.

I did have that *hot back* issue a few times in the past with iOS 6, I had to do a full restore to fix it. In fact, such a restore also fixed the battery life issues I had.

Based on that, I logically deduce it to a hang process somewhere that was eating up battery, which also cause the device to warm up unnaturally.
