Yep though I just checked and it has now finally dropped to 98%.
I just checked on my son’s iPhone SE (battery replaced in January 2019) and the battery health is still 100%.

That’s almost impossible...

It’s actually very possible. Batteries will stay high on first 6-12 months sometimes above 100%.

When they start depleting, it will deplete faster as time goes by. 3rd year depletes faster than 2nd year all else constant (use, type of charger, frequency of charging)

Anyone that lets the battery drain to zero every other day is abusing its battery life and that will result in faster depletion

TLDR Battery depletion is not linear

iPhone X since launch
First battery 86%
Second battery 93%

iPhone 7Plus - 2.5 years 89%

iPhone 5 second battery 5 years old - 67%

The X im about to sell has 84% had it since launch day.
My battery has gone to 0% many times and turned off but i blame apple for getting rid of the battery % sign on the home screen, how am i supposed to know its about to run out of battery..

You will be able too see how much battery you have lifted when you pull down Control center look for it in the upper right part of the UI for the battery %

In my (long) experience, this is the first time I’m seeing this kind of behavior.
Battery depletion isn’t linear, for sure, but it started almost immediately.
Usually after one year every iPhone I owned showed battery health in the 93-97% range.
Never saw 100% after 12 months of usage.

That’s not considered as “normal wear” I suppose...

My launch day 11 pro max is at 96% but it’s okay it will traded in when the new iPhone launches in Sept/Oct 2020
My launch day (actually one week later) iPhone 11 Pro still is at 100%.

That’s pretty good.

Launch day X is sitting at 81% (and has been for the past 3 months). Fairly heavy user in the sense my battery will be <10% by the end of the day.
Planning to keep this phone for another 3 years, so a new battery is given. Maybe give the current one another year?

81% is a very low value (anything below 85/86% is).
If you are planning to keep it another 3 years why not replace the battery now ? I think 2 years is the best a battery could lasts.

Cheers. Still supporting peak performance, and lasts the the day, so is it really worth replacing? Unless there is something I don’t know about.

I see similarly with my iPhone 7 that was purchased in 2017 and showed 83% battery and needed replacement in 2019.

iPhone 8 bought about a month after launch, 85%

With my iPhone 8 that was purchased in the beginning of 2018 I got the battery replaced at the end of 2019 with 87% remaining.

I did that since service centre is a long way and I decided to get both phones' batteries replaced in the same trip.

XR 97% after 6 months. Not bothered as i will be getting the new iphone in September

Launch Day 11 Pro, 97%. It got to there about a month after and has stayed. Super weird, but I still get the usage I love out of it, so it’s fine for now.

My XS was at 97% shortly after purchase at launch and stayed at 97% the whole year until I got the 11. It worked great and battery life seemed fine to me.

I really don't give a darn personally. It holds a charge for 2-3 days and that's fine by me. I don't get so worked up over the whole 'health' obsession.

My MacBook Pro alternates between 100% and 99% but again, it works so why worry about it? Unless it's supposed to self-destruct once it reaches 80% or something?
