yeah the extra animations make things appear less snappy.

What do you mean extra? I'm just talking about when you open and close an app! It's definitely slower than iOS 6 .. It's not slow slow at all but I can notice a difference!

extra duration of the animations to be more specific I guess.

Very smooth on my iPhone 5

Very poor performance on my iPad 3, iPad mini and iPhone 4s.

On 4S? Really? I ran beta 6 as a daily driver without any performance issues and the GM is a little smoother again. I can see why the 4S was kept in the line up as the entry level iPhone, it's performance on iOS 7 is fantastic.

Fast, smooth animations, etc.

Jerky, buggy mess on iPad 4 set as new. Great on iPhone 5 even with restored backup.

Since this is the final version that is to be released to the public on the 18th, I don't think that I'm breaking an NDA by saying that it's amazing on my 5.

Performance of GM on my nearly 2 year old iPhone 4S is as good as on beta 6, except "Define" now works. Really good overall. Very smooth.

Well, a friend of mine has beta 6 on her iPhone 5 and remarkably the performance on hers truly isn't much different than what is seen on my phone. I assume GM on her phone would more or less be like how it is performing on beta 6.

I've not yet updated the two iPhone 4 in my home to GM. They're both currently on beta 6 and the lag I see on them truly is very noticeable, despite already having all settings reset and the commonly mentioned stuff disabled that's supposed to be causing poor performance and quick battery drain. I suppose GM wouldn't make much difference to the performance of these iPhone 4 already on beta 6. Hmm ...

Right after installation a couple of things were a bit slow but after some minutes everything's smooth.

Only problem I see here is animations. A bit too slow and/or a bit too long. For instance this parallax effect in multitasking is a little odd. It's hard to center the app you want at the first attempt and you must wait until animation is complete + 1 second in order to click it. That makes it feel a little off tbh.

Aside from that all the rest is awesome.

I'm curious about what happens after you install the GM and the final release comes out next week. Do you just get a notification that there's a new download or do you have to uninstall the GM and do a restore to a previous release? I'm wondering because I assume the GM expires in a couple of months.

No, nothing happens. If you have the GM, and they dont change anything, then your good to go! GM is what they are releasing to the general public so your phone will phone home with the most up to date build number next Wednesday.

Are you saying the GM doesn't expire? And what happens when Apple updates the final release in a month or two? They install right over the GM?

Thanks!

GM doesn't expire. As stated, this is the final version.. Don't worry about installing it! When there's an OTA it'll work/update just as designed.

There was a 3 second delay on some options in Settings for me and I was having trouble with scrolling through my apps that are open (slight lag) but apart from that I am happy. iMessage seems to be faster and smoother.

I did however have a problem with installing the GM, the iPhone was a replacement from the Apple Store so I imagine it was not brand new. When I was at the Welcome screen and signing in to download my paid apps it went through 3 or 4 very different Apple IDs that I have never entered on my iPhone before. I had to skip through these in order to continue with finishing the set-up process, but I would have thought these would have been removed when they handed me the iPhone in the Apple Store a few months ago.

It works great, though it can be a lil laggy especially when i close an app using gestures. And Somehow theres no unlock sound on my iPad mini. Anyone with the same problem?

I am going to do a DFU restore on my iPad 3 and set it up as new once I get home.

If I still find errors then only I will put FULL blame on Apple after 18th if same build gets released to pubic.

when starting the background settings and choosing a dynamic wallpaper and then jumping back to background settings and trying to start dynamic wallpaper again the phone jumps back to springboard automatically. have you seen this bug too? seen on iphone5 a1429 ios 7 gm
