Got to BB at 4:00 and there were about 50 people ahead of me, was given a ticket at 4:30, got my iPad at 5:15 and waited in another line to pay until about 6:00.

2 hours isn't bad but BB could have done much better getting people through.

Got to my local mall at 1:30 - left at 5:20. Not too terribly long, I waited MUCH longer for my iPhone 3G.

Went to a Best Buy near my work at 3:00 and was the first person to leave with an iPad at 5:15. Was just at Tysons Corner mall in northern Virginia, and there was still a pretty big line at 8:00.

Approx 4.5 hours. I was #45 in line, lined up at 12:45, was out the door with my iPads at 5:15. There were at least 250 people in line when I left.

9 hours. Got to the Apple store at 7am and was fourth in line. I'm glad I went early. There were probably 300 people lined up behind me by 4pm and they definitely didn't have enough stock to cover everyone.

Glad I decided on white. It looks as nice as I was hoping =)

2 hours. Got to Walmart at 3:00 with my wife, we were the only ones there until around 3:45 when another two people showed up and it was the 4 of us until around 4:30 when a bunch of people came out. They had 10 on hand and passed out tickets, the rest of the people who showed up later were out of luck.

Got to Target at 3:40 on a whim. 7 people in front of me, they had 10 16gb wifi and 5 64gb wifi. Checked out at 5:01. It was for my wife, I already had an iPad1. then went to appl store after dinner to get a cover. Big line but waltzed right in just for the cover. Blue.

About 3 hours at Best Buy. Got there a little after four, about 50 people in front of me. My fiancé wanted one as well but didn't show up till almost two hours after I was there.

The Best Buy nerds handed out those tickets, starting with the 64GB models. I took one of those (Wifi only). They told me that they were only handing out one ticket per person and my fiancé wasn't there yet and I was afraid she'd miss out. Fortunately the BB dorks have short-term memory loss. On the next pass thru the line they were handing out the 32GB tickets. I had my first ticket in my pocket and yep, try gave me another one. So we each wound up with white Wifi only, her 32 & me 64.

Inside the store seemed even slower than outside. BB were really pushing sales on accessories, service plans, warranties, buy-back plans etc. One of em tried to get me to sign up for buy-back by saying ipad3 is coming soon. LoL. Another clown was pushing Apple TVs. Would have been a lot faster checkout if it weren't for all their non-iPad noise.

Initially stopped at local SuperTarget at 3 pm--no line because after talking to employees, didn't receive any inventory with daily delivery and didn't know if they were getting any. Best Buy next door had maybe 15 people in line but after talking to others, didn't sound like they had much inventory.

Arrived at Tampa AS about 3:30, maybe 200-250th in line, probably at least another 150 after me at 5:00. Store sold out of 16 and 32 GB AT&T models (both colors) by 4-4:15 (employees went through line handing out tickets). Luckily still had 64 GB AT&T when they got to me--picked up one in each color, out the door at 6:45 PM, line still extended outside the mall.

Got in line at 3:50, got through the incredibly slow line at 5:25. Unfortunately, in my rush to get out, I forgot to use my $20 Reward Zone certificate. Ah well, I'll just use it with the certificate I get for buying the iPad to get something else.

Got in line at the Apple store in Crossgates Mall at around 2:30pm was 78th person in line, there was seriously 400 people there by 5pm, I got out of there by 5:20pm they were very efficient getting everyone with tickets in and out.

Got the iPad white 16GB wifi

I live in the UK. I'm STILL waiting. Will be for another 13 days if Apple get us some iPads when they say they will. If not may be waiting longer.

Yeah, this was really annoying.

Wasn't planning on getting one today. Already ordered online this morning. I live a few blocks away from a Best Buy, so I went to get a camera connection kit. This was about 4pm and there were about 15 people in line. So I got in. They didn't give tickets out until 5pm, about 100 people were in line by then. I didn't get to check out until 5:45pm. The guy at check out tried forever to talk me into the buy back plan by trying to scare me into it. No wonder it took 45 minutes to check out 15 people. Oh, and I never got my camera connection kit. This was in Brooklyn, compared to all the Manhattan waiting stories, I feel pretty lucky.

I got to BB about 3:20 and left about 5:50 so 2 1/2 hours. The checkout was slow to only 3 spots. Felt bad for the 80 people behind me.

Loving it so far, although the display needs a little readjustment from the iP4. But happy so far.

Walked into Walmart about 7:30 and walked out with a 16gb wifi with no lines. Target had 4 64gb wifi about 8pm with no line.
