WTF :confused: I'm getting kind of mad, I have 2 that are supposed to be in Florida by Wednesday, which is less than 48 hours from now.

This **** is crazy. I ordered (AT&T, 16GB) at Mar 11, 2011 at 01:00 AM PDT... and the official time the orders were to open was Mar 11, 2011 at 01:00 AM PDT. What the hell.

FedEx, Apple... you royally f-ked up.
 
Mine has been there so long she (aren't all ipads she's?) went to the local Apple store, stood in line and scalped a few iPads.
Of course she shipped them off of Lantau Island via UPS! :D

First time poster here, but I too am stuck on the Island of Lantau. I ordered a 64GB Black ATT 3g/wifi iPad 2 on March 11 at 12:56 PDT. I have been on Lantau Island since March 18th.

So is this what's going on? I ordered a refurbished iPad on Sunday. It said it ships within 24 hours. It's Tuesday, and it has yet to ship at all.
 
Day 5 and still Lantau Island.... It's supposed to be at my door tomorrow (!!!!)

Fine! Lesson learned!! Next time I buy anything from :apple: it will be through Best Buy or Amazon! Let them take their retailers cut...

I'm done making sure I reward this company to the fullest extent... no more!

I don't understand why you are mad. They are still within the estimated delivery time of March 18-25 WHEN YOU PLACED YOUR ORDER!!! So Relax!
 
Getting frustrated. Finding it hard to believe it will be delivered Thursday the 24th if it is still on vacation on Lantau Island.

You can see from my tracking info in post #18 back on the first page that mine left Lantau on the 14th and was delivered to me in Atlanta on the 15th. So it can still make it.

If yours is like mine and the famed Atlanta poster, it will ship from Lantau Island tomorrow by noon. Mine left HK this morning and is estimated to arrive tomorrow. If I can tear myself away from the Apple-y goodness (and work) I'll update.
 
think mine went back to Lantau Island after coming stateside. THis happen to anyone else? Guess they really like it there
 
Four days now in Lantau... but on a positive note, I called Apple to talk about my options and they are sending out a free case! Not bad :cool: I'll forgive the delay.

Ha ha, my wife called last night and they pretty much told her tough ****. Guess it depends on who you talk to. On a good note, after 4 days in Lantau for mine and my wife's, one is in Anchorage and one is in Memphis now.:eek:
 
Has anyone considered flight delays due to a certain earthquake and tsunami that is located directly between Lantau and Alaska? Not sure of flight plans but I'm guessing there is some air traffic issues in that region.

You do realize planes fly in the sky? :p

On a serious note; FedEx claims that tsunami delays are only affecting a handful of zip-codes in Japan.... so, no!

The culprit is the unique "Economy" contract that :apple: has with FedEx, maybe specifically for iPad (?). I called FedEx, and they informed me that the reason for the delay at Lantau is because the planes are "filling up" (first time I've EVER heard that excuse in 15 years of dealing with FedEx/DHL/UPS international deliveries!!).

My guess is :apple:'s cheapo contract is on a space-avialable basis on the international part of the shipment.

Mine sat on lantau island for nearly 5 days, however it is arriving the day that fedex said it would, which is the day after it left lantau island. It doesnt take long to get from the island to you once it leaves the island
