Read on the other thread, that it's not healthy for a Li-ion battery to have full discharges. 502 cycles, and still 100% seems a bit unrealistic, no?

http://www.batteryuniversity.com/partone-14A.htm

Well it's not in my experience if you look above I'm over 700 cycles and over 90%. I still get about 3hours and 40 minutes of battery life surfing the internet on wifi. Also I have found that I can improve my over all battery life if I do several full discharges to sleep before recharging.

Really? That's awesome. How do you charge your battery?

I have no clue what is going on....my battery on my MBP SR (August 07') has been action up as late....and it only has approx. 80 cycles. The battery performance should be in the high 80%, but its going up and down constantly during discharge and charging. I have tried to calibrate the battery....

Edit: these pictures are from the last couple of days......its really acting crazy!

I didn't photoshop that picture or anything. I have no idea why my macbook's battery is so good. I'm a happy mac user xD.

just got my 15" penryn battery replaced for free yesterday. it was at 257 cycles and 74%. it was lasting about 2 1/2 hours on wifi

I am at like 233 cycles and 91%, this is my second battery which I got from warranty, and I have had it for about....6 months-ish :/ I used it everyday but I don't know how to keep it from dying, is 233 cycles bad??

Here is my 1 month old 17" Unibody MacBook Pro.. Coconut Battery was unable to get the "Correct" maximum battery charge, so I inputted 13000 as the value.. Is that right?

Also for a 1 month old battery, is 97% of total current charge normal? I always drain all my battery before plugging it with adapter and let it drain again..

Not at all. If you take a look at the previous Coconut posts most have 4.5-5.5k

So anyway, Macs have Lithium batteries, right? I remember reading here a post that said it's not good to live the battery charging when it's fully charged, and now the batteryuni site says it's OK. Just making sure this is Li-Ion

Cycles: 489
Charge remaining: 2823

Have had this SR MBP since August 2007. I haven't really been keeping up with "healthy" battery practices. My laptop is basically my only personal computer so its probably plugged in more often than not compared to some of you who have a desktop and laptop.

First of all, sorry to partially resurrect this thread from the dead. I have been browsing MacRumors for a while & decided it was time to join.

Have been following these battery discussions as of late, to try and figure out why most of my colleagues & co-students have so varying results with their batteries.

What usually happens is that due to a busy workflow I do not pay attention to the 10 minutes remaining warning, which basically results in a flat out power drop.

As for my own battery health status, I'm just praying it's going to stay like this

Current Cycle Count: 1121
Current Capacity: 95%
Macbook Age: 27 months

Also interesting to see how both applications round their results differently.

Edit: Sorry about the wrong forum. I sincerely thought this was also a Macbook forum. Oh well ^.^

Just because the previous ones says 4.5-5.5k doesn't make that wrong at all.

That said, the correct value is 12820 mAh
