cycles macbook 2006

Hey ya'll ive got a black macbook ive had mine for a bout 30 or so months.

My mom has the same just white.

Mine black has 100% health and 254 cycles

my moms has 98% and 800 some cycles

should she be worried

mine seems to be dying, this would be the second time that I get it replaced, if I end up doing that. I'm going to do a calibration and see if that helps.

by calibrating once a month you mean simply fully charging and letting the battery drain out right?

Here are my stats using coconut battery:

rofl look at this:

Current Battery Capacity:
5041 mAh

Original Battery Capacity:
5020 mAh

then underneath 100%

Battery Loadcycles: 71

Is this good? 5 Months Old apparently, although I only got in May.

After 150 cycles my battery is down to only 50% health according to iStatPro. Seems like mine is on the weaker end of the battery life range.
I will see if I can get it replaced under my Apple Care next month.

Anyone know what their standard procedure is for this? Am I eligible or it that considered normal wear and tear?

Just a note I now know from watching my father use his laptop recently that if you only partially drain and plug the battery in and never fully drain the battery you can get your brand new battery down to 70% in just a couple weeks.

After I had him reset the PMU and do a few full drain and recharge cycles it came back up to 95% but would not recover fully. Personally I think this means despite the battery supposedly not needing regular full draining it actually does. The people with a several hundred cycles and near 100% battery all seem to have the same process of draining the battery completely before recharging.

I basically do one drain each day then let it charge overnight.
My last battery did about 610 cycles (26 months old) and was ~60% health.
It was nearly 100% at 400 charges then gradually faded away until 60% health @600 cycles, were it doesn't really service my needs as my daily computer.

I'm @ 18 cycles now and 98% health.

I've still got 97% health on my battery after 302 cycles. During the time I have had my MacBook I've found that I can increase my battery life by turning off the airport when Im not using it, and using an ethernet cable when possible.

My little comp is nearly 2.5 years old, I have never calibrated the battery and Currently it is at

Cycle count: 619
Original Battery Capacity: 5020mAH
Current Battery Capacity: 4022mAH

So it's not as great a some of yours, but I'm proud of my little comp none the less

I have 428 cycles on my 1st gen black macbook and 100% health. is this a fluke? i used to use it approx. 70% time on battery power and would only recharge when the warning dialog came up. now, i don't use it because of my brand new 15" MBP:D

here's my stats on a Feb. 2008 MBP 2.5GHz 8600M GT 512MB
