How many replacement iPhone 4 have you had?

I'm on my 4th

I stood in line on Day 1 at 6 AM, with a reservation.

First one had 3G Data problems. In a strong 3G area, I got messages like "Server cannot be found" "Server has stopped responding" and "Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet."

Second one had severe Proximity Sensor problems - almost every call.

Third one (the first with 5K in the serial number btw) got No Signal (4.0.1 AND a Bumper) when the person sitting next to me with a 3Gs gets full bars. I have missed more calls than I have received.

Fourth one - (5K serial number) starting Camera locks up the phone. I get the image of the closed shutter and I have to re-boot the phone.

It is a statistical improbability that I continue to get defective iPhones, but it is discouraging. I want an iP4 that Just Works. I'm working with a Second Tier Support Person, but we were playing Phone Tag yesterday. When we get in touch on Monday, I will ask him to ship me a NEW iP4, not a refurb.

With every discovery of another problem, I swear that I'm going to return the phone, but the fact is, I want an iPhone 4. I like the faster processor. I like the video and the better camera. I like the Retina Display.

I know there are millions of flawless iP4s out there. I believe that Apple's Customer Service is first rate. I believe that the vast majority of iPhones are trouble free. I believe that if I hang in there long enough, I will get a iPhone4 that works. I just cannot believe that I have had so many problems.

That's a heck of a lot of replacements! Hope you get a working one soon.

I've just received my iPhone 4, from the reason I am living in Poland and imported it from UK I am "sentenced" to it.

It's 32th week and I don't have problems with prox sensor, yellow tnit on camera's photos and screen, only when I am using a death grip it drops bars, but never goes to "No service/searching", minimally I've 1 bar and also tried to hold for about 1,5 minute a death grip and it did not drop a call so I guess my iPhone 4 is really fine.

btw. that phone is finished awesomely (not sure if there is such a word :p) in comparison to iPhone 3G - that one looks a bit like a toy next to the iP4.

what is this yellow tint problem? I've been reading about the blue tint problem in artificial lighting but nothing about a yellow one?

The blue tint problem is irritating. Can anyone provide a picture in fluorescent lighting that does NOT have the blue tint?

One here. My day 1 iPhone 4 was replaced because it simply refused to sync in any way after about a week. Wouldn't sync, restore, or even appear to the computer. I tried it on multiple machines, took it to the Genius Bar and they tried it on multiple machines, then simply gave me a new one. This one's been right as rain since though, so fingers crossed, it'll stay that way.

I have had none.

If you can't modify it to put one as a choice then you should remove the thread altogether as it is totally incorrect. You should have known better or it is a troll poll.

Oh for gods sake, I made a quick poll as I was wondering how many times people who have had faulty phones have had to exchange to get a good one. Putting none is totally irrelevant in this case.

You can't get an accurate result with out the option of none.

I want an option for none.

Me too.

I think you'll be able to find the odd story of someone needed 6 replacements to get a good one, but the reality is that most people don't need to replace their first one, and anyone that does gets a good one with their first replacement.

EDIT: It's interesting to check the poll results and see who picked which numbers and check back over their post history to see if they really own an iPhone.
