The white does look good, but I'll be getting black. Black is my favorite color. However, if there ever was a darker red iPad, I would be all over it! Which color to get is an easy decision for me. The harder decision is 3G or WiFi only.

Black will work with any dark case.

White will only work with colored cases (loud colors).

Otherwise, naked white is cool. but I like cases so.....

Apple has conditioned me to not make my own choices. Now I have these things called thoughts and I have to choose? Oh! The horror! Why has Apple made life so difficult? The white one or the black one?!!! I can't decide!

After seeing all these reviews up and about half of them using a white iPad.......I'm sold.

Going white.

Same here. I was wavering but pretty sure it'll be the white now. I hate the white iphone's but this just seems to work for some reason.

As for the whole white is feminine thing... did none of you ever have an iPod before they went black or aluminium? Never owned a white macbook? White iMac?? Did you feel the need to stick on a dress before you used them?

Unless you're mincing around in a crop top, the white iPad aint gonna make you more feminine..!

Going to check them out in person for final decision but leaning towards white currently. Mostly curious if the bezel color plays any tricks on the eyes so that perceived reflectivity is lower with one over the other

I was going to get black, but after looking at the pics on Engadget I may get white. I want to see it in person first before I decide.

I don't understand the white/girly & black/macho thing any more than I understand how a chair can be feminine and a telephone can be masculine in French.

Okay, pink would be girly but black and white??
So, I'll be getting a white one...and a black cover ;-)

It's funny how the consensus swayed to white once official reviews came out.

White just makes sense. The black looks muted and dull to me now.

Thanks you for letting me see the light, basedsteve. :apple:

where r u looking? On apple's website all I see is the blue cover (on white and black) with ONE picture of a pink cover on a white iPad...

The Apple Store.

Even though I was going to initially purchase the white iPhone 4 when Apple formally announced it last year, if I were to upgrade to the iPad 2, I would purchase the black bezel model.

Wow. My mom has a red and black handbag and my dad has a pale blue shirt (AND light grey trousers). Was I raised by transexuals?

I think there are some VERY insecure people over thinking this.

Mine wasn't meant to be supportive of white being feminine, merely an observation in the difference in cover choices shown by Apple. Personally, I'd choose black simply because I think it makes a better viewing experience than the white, and white makes me think (for whatever reason) of a Kindle.

When apple was in the beg stage all products were white. What has change the mind set on this. I think the white goes back to the old apple days and looks cool.

No that's fair enough. I just replied to your post as it echoed a lot of other comments.

I think the lighter covers compliment the white better. It's like the old iMacs and iBooks.
