Depends on the ebook providers

won't even consider getting another iPad until I see the fallout from Apple's decision to charge 30% for ebooks from people like Kindle. If they drive them away I will look for some other platform since reading ebooks is one of the primary things I use the iPad for.

They gave them a June deadline to comply with the shakedown - if they stay I might get the 2, if they don't this will be my last iPad (assuming the Android tablet makers don't try and follow suit)

I just bought a 32 GB wifi from eBay, just prior to the announcement. I still got a good deal for $500. The iPad was nearly mint, with screen protector, 2 cases, camera connection kit, dock and AC until August 2012. I finally received it last night and holy crap I am in love.

I am confident that my iPad will keep me happy until the iPad 3 is out, and if for some reason a must have app comes out, I can always buy an iPad 2 from eBay or maybe even a refurb. :D

Everything in my head says "hold off - your "old" ipad does everything you want very, very well. And while the features on IP2 are great, they are not what you use and don't justify another $600+"
My heart says - these things are so smooth that it's is killing me not to have the one.
Working to hard to have my head rule my heart.

I have mine on eBay right now. If it sells, then I may pick up an iPad 2 in the coming weeks, I dunno. If it doesn't, then I'm content to keep it.

Right at this minute, I could use the money from selling it for another project I'm working on (not another purchase); a project that could be very lucrative, so it could pay off in spades. So we'll see how it goes.

But that notwithstanding, unless you get a really good price for your Original, it doesn't seem like the iPad 2 is worth the upgrade unless you're a gamer. The cameras alone are a huge disappointment.
