I'm on my 3rd phone. Returned my refurb 4GB after they dropped the prices since it was still within the 14 day period. My new 8GB had the negative black issue and was replaced yesterday at an Apple store with a refurb. Fortunately, my replacement is perfect, so I suspect that'll be the end of that. :)

My original one has been flawless as has the 3 of my co-workers. I purchased mine on 6/30 and my co-workers all bought theirs in early July.

I still have my original iPhone. 1.1.1 and working 100%! I was noticing how great the speaker is after the update just now. I started playing a song through the speaker and I could hear it in the next room.

AT&T is pretty darn good and reliable too!

There is not one thing I hate about this phone.

I was there on iDay. I've taken my iPhone through hell and back with nicks and scrapes all over the back, and at least 2 hair line scratches on the screen that you couldn't make out with the screen on, or even when its off really. I remember a girl running the counter at Best Buy looking at my iPhone when I put it down to pay, and saying "I wish I had an iPhone... [GASP!] Wow, I'd take better care of it if that were mine." I responded, "Yeah, well, I didn't get it because I thought I'd have to baby-sit it." I updated to 1.1.1, purchased music over iTunes WiFi, looked forward to using the TV Out again, and seeing a new update with better features.

I had my original phone... until recently (this week), and it has been nothing short of awesome. I've been admittedly highly irresponsible with my iPhone, and on drop 234, it hit the cement from about 6 feet up as it slipped out of an open bag, and got a slight crack to the glass (not crossing the viewport, just up by the top speaker). I thought about it, hemmed and hawed, and went to the Apple store with a sad face and my iPhone in tow in my original "iPhone" bag from launch day (prepared to just find out what repair might cost). They made it clear they weren't responsible, and that there might not be anything they could do (I worded my question of options ambiguously)... but ended up swapping it out for free.

Now, I'm back with a prestine iPhone... I'm using my Spec rubber case religiously, buying a screen cover soon, being much much more considerate with my handset, and at firmware 1.02 again, I'm throwing all my 3rd party apps back onto it, and reconsidering when I'll make the 1.1.1 update (when not if) while sporting my new Apple Bluetooth headset using my $100 store credit.

You may think this sort of excellent customer treatment would make me Apple's bitch...

--And you'd be right.

Boy, one sync and its like its the same phone again... but BETTER.

Still have mine from the day after iDay. No problems here.

I'm on my 4th iPhone since the price drop. :(

1st one had battery problems - wouldnt charge fully
2nd and 3rd had negative black screens
4th seems good :D

Original here as well, no problems, no scratches carried in a Nutshell vertical belt case 95% of the time. Only App was iToner, currently removed awaiting Ambrosia's update.

Original phone purchased on release day 2 with nary a problem. Remember that due to posting bias, it may seem like every has exchanged their units from reading a discussion forum. In truth, the vast majority of folks have never had to do so, but they just don't post about it (unless someone starts a thread like this!).:)

My iPhone is stil in the original condition. No mods, nothing! Just a new background and of course, my iTunes library. I'm not going to mod mine... take away from the insanely great-ness of Apple. :D :apple:

I just got my fourth one yesterday...

the first one's screen flickered randomly

the second one was great until it started freezing up every 10 minutes:mad:

the third one worked for a good 3 weeks then a strip at the top of the touchscreen stopped working

now, this one is the one!(I think & hope)....the screen is great, it performs fast, and the speaker is a lot louder than all the others(I know the update makes it louder) but the one I sent in last weak had a sucky speaker

Got mine a week after iDay, my aunt got hers the day after, and my Mom two days after that. All three iPhones are working great! I have iToner on mine (ringtones still work, they're just "invisible"). No problems with any of the phones. No scratches, meltdowns, or anything (and I've dropped mine on a concrete floor - ouch!). I don't use a cover on mine, anymore (even after the drop!). I had a rubber case, but I found it weakens the WiFi signal. We swear these things are unbreakable (but I have seen the photos that unfortunately prove that they are).

Got mine on iDay around 7pm - had it activated within an hour - and it's still going strong... so yes, I'm still on the original.

No case - it goes naked in my pocket.

I did have the "battery not showing fully charged and no usage stats" issue... but I had GREAT battery life so even though Apple was willing to exchange it, I held out believing a software update would rectify the problem... and IT DID.
