Still using my 4s white 32GB since launch date 2011. Original screen and battery. Upgraded to ios 7.0.2 and it runs really slow even with all animations turned off. Battery only lasts 1/2 day for me. But I use the phone as a secondary phone and as an ipod for my stereo.

I still use my black 64GB 4S. I've taken exceptionally good care of it, as it's never had a single crack or scratch, and all I've ever had it in is an original black Apple bumper. Admittedly, I've gone through 3 bumpers over the years. The only problem I have with the phone is the weak battery, as I've never replaced it.

Tomorrow, my 128GB Space Grey 6S arrives. After how well I've used and protected my 4S, I definitely deserve the ridiculously huge upgrade that I'll be experiencing hours from now.

After 4+ years with my 4 still in new condition that's how I feel.

Still on iPhone 4S 64GB - immaculate state (original everything)... battery still great (I charge it every 2nd night)...

But when iPhone 6S 128GB Space Grey will be available for me I will finally retire it after years of faithful service!

My white 16GB 4S is still going strong. Original screen and battery. In fact, if I take off the front and back protective sheets, the phone still looks like new the day it came from its box. Battery still lasts more than a day with light usage, and it's running iOS 9.0.1. Animations are a little slow and choppy, but very usable. I also don't have the Safari page crashing like other people have reported. Still 3.1GB of storage space left. I haven't ordered a 6S yet, and I'll wait and see how far my 4S can go...

Just wandering how long these devices last. Anyone with the above still have the original battery and screen?
I use 4S for 3 years. Screen is original. I dropped the phone few times, but it didn't break. There are some scratches here and there, but he's very nice looking. I replaced battery, because I did repair for WiFi module, but it wasn't very necessary, battery worked OK.

The only thing I would recommend is to upgrade to iOS 6. iOS 7+ are not appropriate for this device, they just ruin all experience. Any modern Android is faster and smoother than iPhone 4S with iOS 7+. But with iOS 6 it's lightning fast. I played with iPhone 6 at store, it isn't that fast and smooth in my opinion.

I'm considering buying iPhone 6S if it will be good enough for me. Gonna present this 4S to my wife, she really likes it.

When the thread was posted, many people use the iPhone 4S because it could update to iOS 9, not as much as the iPhone 6 at that time though, and quite a few people at the time you posted still use the iPhone 4, because it could only support iOS 7. Now, scarcely anybody still use iPhone 4/4S, except for stupid people, drug dealers, poor people, old people.
On 11 September 2015, when you posted this thread, I was using an iPhone 6 Plus 128GB, awaiting upgrade to the iPhone 6S Plus when it was released.

My mom is using my iPhone 4 32gb for many years now. Original screen and battery. It’s working perfectly for her. Only thing that’s annoying is that a lot of apps can’t be downloaded from the App Store any more because the iOS version can’t be updated to a newer version. So I’ll soon have to let her upgrade to a iPhone 6s or 7.

Always wondered whether I should had gotten my $50 exchange when I upgraded 'cuz it's mostly just sitting there. it looks weirdly stubby now compare to my SE and HEAVY! but if they ever come out with a 4-like 4.7-5" (classic, Jobs "like a Leica camera"), Apple got my $$.
