I'm disappointed...

1. At how easy it was to scan my fingerprints - I expected a LOT more trouble
2. At how quick fingerprint scanner unlocks my phone - hey, where's the lag?
3. That I can put in an extra secure pin 'just in case' so it's more difficult to crack my password...

All in all - pretty incredulous at how easy the process is and how great it works.
I'll be really disappointed - IF the new Apple devices don't include it. :D

I've been using it consistently for 2 days and it's not bad. I'm just not used to having any securely so although it's fast it's slower than what I used to experience. But my wife convinced me to use a security measure. Anyone else that never used a pass code having trouble getting used to it?

As mentioned previously, I'm growing annoyed that my 4th gen iPad doesn't have this feature, and I've only had my 5s for one day.

It's beyond convenient and I intend to use it daily. No issues so far.

I find myself keeping my thumb on my iPad Mini's home button thinking it will unlock. I've had my new 5s for less than a day and I'm already that used to it.

Why would you not use it?

I use it every time. Only a few times yesterday when I first unboxed my 5S did I forget and used the passcode instead.

After receiving my 5S this morning, I can conclude that I love (and use of course) the finger print censor. However, after using my 5 without a password lock, I find myself constantly just swiping to unlock, rather then placing my finger over the home button to unlock. I do find the touchID to be convenient though, I just have to get used to using it :p

Haha same here only took one day but now I'm use to it.

I use it. I set a really long password and just use my finger to unlock it. Works great and is safe. I would leave my phone without a code because I hated having to enter it a code all the time. I love the fingerprint censor.

Anyone have an opinion on this?

Yes- that is the only reason I turned it off. I have never used a passcode, but with the sensor it was easy, and I figured I would try it out. It was great-until I got a few messages and had to do one more step before reading it or responding. Now it is off.

To those who are saying the touch ID isn't working well...

Something is up with your fingers (calluses?) or your phone.

Mine has worked every single time on each of the 4 fingers that I have registered. Not a single time has it failed.

Excellent Track Record

So far the ID has worked for me, flawlessly, 100% of the time. I use my index finger or thumb. It recognizes both without a hitch. I set it up in the Apple Store, with their assistance, before I left with my 5s. At first I didn't understand the identification process for setting it up, so they helped me through it.

I use it regularly. Have both thumbs and one pointer finger registered and it works great!
