Will you be switching to Verizon

I can upgrade on March 26[sup]th[/sup]. I will more than likely get the iPhone, a bumper, and a screen protector on the weekend after the 26[sup]th[/sup]. I will then break my current phone, Motorola Rival. It sucks.

ATT provides excellent coverage in my area. Verizon does not even offer service where I live.

So ATT for me.

AT&T isn't so great where I live and work. Lots of dropped calls on my iPhone 4 and my wife's 3GS. Data ping times often hit 2000ms (yes, two seconds) when I run the speed check apps and sometimes data fails completely despite having 4-5 bars of signal. And there is near zero AT&T signal penetration into the building in which I work.

Meanwhile, my Verizon phone hasn't dropped a call in 6 months and I get total coverage inside the building at work.

If AT&T works well for you, then there isn't a need to switch. But for me, I couldn't be more excited.

(shrugs) Not being able to reliabiliy receive/make calls is a deal breaker for me.. especially on a cell phone.

Then go to Verizon, I've never had a problem with AT&T over the past 10 years and 4 moves around the country. I'm not sure why you would stay on a network that was unreliable for you.

I get miserable reception in my home, so I was considering switching to Verizon. One of my neighbors suggested I approach AT&T about giving me a MicroCell free of charge. I did, and they did. That seems to have solved my signal problems at home, so I upgraded my old 3G to an iPhone 4 this week. Away from my home AT&T is fine.

where do you live?

PR. Most of the carriers here offer great coverage, like ATT, T-Mobile and Sprint. Verizon coverage was so crappy here that they stopped offering service altogether. With ATT I get 3G on every city I have visited and no dropped calls.

I am so happy to be getting the verizon iphone. My school has NO service at all. The most is 1 bar and Edge.

I'm waiting for the (fake) 4G plans to come out. If AT&T offers "speed tiers" and my bill is more than now, i'll go to Verizon. If Verizon plans are similar, i'll sell my iPhone, buy a dumbphone, and an iPod Touch.

It is so unbelievably transparent how we have some serious sensitive BABIES on this forum. "No love ATT" as a choice. "Love"? It is so silly how sensitive the ATT users are over this.

When there was only one carrier it was "ATT sucks" all day long, now that Verizon has come to the party the ATT users are suddenly overwhelming happy with their dropped calls.

You're not fooling anybody. :D

Of course my true reply doesn't fit any of those poll options. I don't "love" AT&T. I've never loved a cell carrier, or cable company. That said, I see no reason to switch at the present time. There are definite "cons" to a Verizon iphone. Will I stay with AT&T as long as I have an iphone? That remains to be seen.

They have changes that. You will now be able to do that while on a phone call. And honestly when are you going to be using the web while on a phone call?

While I still intend to switch to Verizon, there is no simultaneous voice/data on Verizon. Period. Data is paused when a call comes in. Data resumes when the call ends. SMS works while on a call, but not data.

I have an HTC Droid Incredible and it's never been a significant issue for me. I'd rather give up simultaneous voice and data to not drop calls every 3 minutes!

CDMA/LTE phones, some of them at least, will do voice and data simultaneously, but use the CDMA channel for voice and the LTE channel for data. No voice-over-LTE yet.
