Guys guys....dont change topics,... i need your suggestiuons.. dont compare now US and singapoor..

I didn't say anything about Singapore or anything off topic. I said that in my opinion you should wait. I didn't mention SoftBank because I don't think it's a done deal yet. But if the deal goes through and Sprint gets $20B to invest in the network that they are already rolling out, upgrades can start happening much faster and overall the network will get better, both LTE and 3G.

I guess my point is, if you've waited this long what's another year? Mind you, you already have LTE and unlimited. I wish I lived in your part of the country. Supposedly we'll get it by the end of the year. At least for me 3G is acceptable and I'm a patient man. I currently use about 3 to 4gb's of data per month I imagine it will be higher because we now use FaceTime which works fine for us. Once we get LTE I can see that usage going closer to 8 to 10 gb's and maybe higher. Plus keep in mind that once LTE is coast to coast and covers Europe and Asia there will be more and more services offered that will use more data. In the future we will be able to do a lot more with our iPhones and iPads than we can now due to slow data speeds. I imagine that at some point in the future Sprint might do away with unlimited but I also hope that they will allow current users to be grandfathered in.

I thought about going to Verizon or AT&T for about five minutes. Once I saw how much it would cost us I immediately dropped the whole idea. You have to do what you think is best for you and your family but I think leaving Sprint now is a mistake.

I'd keep Sprint since you already have LTE! Don't give up your unlimited, cheaper, LTE plan.

I'm on Sprint in Orange County, CA and I'm patiently waiting for LTE. It should come in a few months. I'm on wifi at home and at work so I'm not too bothered.

I like paying $30 less/month for our 3 iphones. I think I'd go crazy being on a tiered plan, checking to see how much data my kids and I have used every few days. I have enough things to worry about.

20 min would be about 100 MB.

If you do a facetime call, you can then go to your recent call list and it will tell you approximately how much data that session used.

Anecdotally 2.5 MB/minute on an iPhone 4S on AT&T's '4G' HSPA+ network. In another thread iPhone 5 users were seeing similar usage on LTE with the HD front camera (probably changed to SD for cellular FaceTime by iOS).

Hello All.

i am a sprint customer ( still under 14 days ) and we have LTE at my home and i guess withine 6-7 miles radius of my home too... everything looks good here... i am getting around 12-15mbps down and 5-8 mbps up average.. we can do facetime on data ....

today i was at sams clud and willing to do facetime to show things to my wife, but it wasnt that gr8, as inside there was no LTE. we did facetiem, but it was like doing chat on Dialup....
so, i was thinking to move on Verizon, it seems like they have Strong LTE network ( We dont do Face time that much, but if you have a facility, why not to use it )

So, my question to you guys, how much data does it need to do face time average 20 min. every day... as if i go varizon i might go 8gb shared data plan..

Thnkas,,,
I've found that FaceTime uses approximately 3mb per minute.

Humm.. even i am thinking the same.. and today Softbank bought 70% sprint...

Softbank is the Sprint of Japan. Its a hail mary for both of the companies. Putting two companies that are effectively losing ground will not make them into winners.

but there's that whole thing where "...the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts" so let's just see what happens.

anyone that can inject 20 billion into sprint, and help getting my unlimited LTE network built, is more than welcome to join the soon to be party
