You watched the wrong video LOL. I watched Mr. who’s the boss. I’m charging ahead and picking up my 12 pro max this Friday. Goodbye Felicia

Just watched his review. I don’t see anything in his review that justifies his claim that the 12 pro max is as he says “the iPhone to get”. None of the pictures he shows look enough different to make the claim the camera is that much better. Overall it’s just a bias review from someone that loves large phones.

None of these are showing these huge differences that they claim.

That's good for you then, you can be happy with your 12 Pro. Others can be happy with their Max's.

Right and you having said that means nothing. The benefits are obvious And factual. Better battery life, bigger screen, easier to type on. The plus and Max phones have always been two handers. So those people getting these phones know what they’re getting into and if they complain later they were just mucking around.
The problem w your benefits on the max is actually not related to the thread. It’s the actual camera that people are asking about. We have people upgrading from 11 to 12 and people want to know difference. Then we have us who chose the 12 pro over the max but wonder how much different camera is between them. I could care less about the bigger screen, more battery life. I prefer a smaller size screen for now. You totally went off topic

I didn’t say anyone couldn’t be happy with the pro max. But nothing here would suggest forcing the upgrade if you hate big phone just for the camera. There is just not that big of a difference
Go watch the verge review. They get into the clear camera differences as well

Pretty disappointed on the Max camera. Hardware wise there is a significant improvement but in reality the pictures are mostly similar, even in lower light.
I've decided I'm still going to purchase the Max as I really care about battery life and at least it's close or on par with the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Basically the pro max is the best camera but if it’s not a massive deal the 12 pro will be a great phone as well for photos

Good Pro v Pro Max review here which gives camera specifics:

Thank you for that link. Detailed, helpful comparisons, that show clear advantages for the photos I take most often (moving subjects; low light).

"The iPhone 12 Pro already delivers impressive results year on year, but the iPhone 12 Pro Max leapfrogs it within the same generation. It’s the most impressive gain Apple’s ever had in a model year, image wise."

"If you haven’t gathered it by now, I recommend the iPhone 12 Pro Max to two kinds of people: the ones who want the absolute best camera quality on a smartphone period and those who do the bulk of their work on a phone rather than on another kind of device. There is a distinct ‘fee’ that you pay in ergonomics to move to a Max iPhone. Two hands are just plain needed for some operations and single-handed moves are precarious at best."

I'm sitting here holding my iPhone Pro Max case in happy anticipation!

I have watched that one as well. Nilay clearly said there was a difference, but it wasn’t huge.
Well you canceled the order so it doesn’t matter. You didn’t see enough in the reviews to continue but like I mentioned in a earlier post I’m getting it for whatever camera improvements there are including all the other things that I wasn’t supposed to mention because we have people policing the threads to make sure that we don’t get off topic

I never ordered the max.

People in this thread are discussing the cameras, not campaigning for the Max. I will get my Max on Friday. I just don’t feel compelled to argue every person who didn’t follow suit. It’s really not that personal of a thing.

I don't like big phones, but I've been holding out for Pro Max reviews because I want the best possible camera. Having now read/watched and digested all the reviews I've just ordered the Pro Max.

A step up in size from my XS, but having had a 'bulky' 6s+ and 7+ in the past, I'm hoping it won't be too much of a struggle.

So for you, you think the camera is enough of a bump to justify to sacrifice in having a big phone? To me, it would have had to be night and day difference. I just can’t stand big phones.

Thing is those waiting for the pro max reviews and those who want the best camera the max is still that even if its not a huge difference

Yup - I read the TechCrunch review I posted above and there were several compelling reasons, but there was one big standout line for me as a parent who uses his phone a lot to take pictures/videos of my 4 young kids...

"The iPhone 12 Pro Max has a massive ISO range, enabled by the wide angle. It can pick anywhere from 34-7,616 ISO, which allows it to snap candid shots at wide apertures and faster shutter speeds with much more surety than the iPhone 12 Pro. This isn’t a huge deal for some people, and some of the gain can be washed away depending on what you’re shooting. But for people with kids and who shoot moving subjects in less than ideal conditions, it’s big. It can be the difference between a tack sharp shareable and a throwaway in the right situation."

A good review. To me the benefits of the pro Max camera are clear as daylight, its a much better camera. The increase in quality from the 11 pro to the 12 pro is less then the gap from the 12 pro to the 12 pro Max.

In low light.

Look at the telephoto shot of the dog. And the telephoto taken indoor of that cat - having better stabilzation on the telephoto lens amounts to a huge difference in quality - in low light situations.

The image of the flamingo at night was also hugley different on the pro Max. Way sharper.

For me however that low light performance doesn’t warrant the extra weight and size of that phone. Especially as the 12 pro and the 12 pro Max seem to take identcal images in daylight. And my DSLR will easily outperform the 12 pro Max at low light scenarios.

If anything, at least the Pro Max will surely have improvements over my 8+. Also wanted the bigger screen since I also have a Note 20 Ultra.
