I give it a rinse every day. But that's primarily because I'm at the gym with it and I don't like the film/gunk that builds up on the back if it's not rinsed.

I too rinse mine daily, since I work out every day. But it's just a quick rinse and dry, and I've never had to do anything with the crown.

I wash mine almost daily. I swim 3-4 days each week with it on and want to make sure I clean out all of the chlorine. If I'm not swimming, I'm running, and need to wash out all of the gunk and sweat.

i take mine in the shower once or twice a week, but i dont wear it in the shower, i give it a quick clean and rinse hand wash.
i think they need to be cleaned and the Gunk washed off, a DRY wipe without any fluid isn't enough and over time the Gunk will build up

Bought on launch day and workout an average of 1:31 a day (according to Health). Lots of sweat from weight training, running, extreme trail running (mud), biking and cardio machines.

  • Swam 2 times (don't like swimming)
  • Washed my car about ½ dozen times
  • Caught in the rain running over a dozen times
  • Showered about 120 times (this is why I have never had it)
Crown is a smooth as the day I bought it and have NEVER experienced any Sticky Crown. I believe the key is to keep it clean and Apple is far to conservative with their just 'rinse under water' instructions.

My crown gets mushy and hard to move every day. I have to clean it everyday for it to be smooth.
This cant be normal, anyone else have to clean it everyday? Pressing the crown gets no audible click and rotating the crown is rough, almost stuck at times.

I made a genius bar appointment.

EDIT: Its a 42 Sport

Funny how my space gray had to be cleaned almost daily.

My launch day gold aluminum I've never had to clean. Until I read this post I forgot about the previous issues I had.

Somehow this thread sounds all wrong and dirty, but I admit that I never rinsed my crown. It has always worked perfectly, despite me wearing it whilst cooking, working etc.

I've had my Watch since June and I've never had to rinse the Crown. Still spins smoothly.

Do you workout with your Watch?

I find that any amount of sweat causes the crown to get sticky.

I clean mine out nearly every day after my workout.

It gets cleaned around once a week, or on the day after I work out. Just a quick rinse under warm tap water followed by a wipe down with a microfiber cloth.

Had some sticky crown issues when I first started out since I didn't rinse it down after work outs, but no such problems since I started my above "routine."
