Do you own other watches? If so, how much wrist time does your Apple Watch get weekly?

I'm mostly using my S5 on certain weekdays; like when I have meetings, when I need to go somewhere in town/abroad, or when I work out. However my other mechanical watches get nearly 100% of wrist time on weekends and off days.

I have several mechanical watches that are sitting in the drawer, when I started using an iPhone. And now that the Apple Watch has matured (in many respects) with mirroring what the iPhone can do, my old watches stay in the drawer. And with my upgrade from s3 to s5, I have been using my Apple Watch even more.

I used to love thin watches, had a Seiko Lasalle which I loved till it wore out. Switched to Skagen models until I got the first AW. Got the AW5 in SS Gold to get back to the bling of the Lasalle. Now the Skagen sits in a box on my dresser. I found the tech features out weighed the bulkiness.

I used to wear watches but then stopped when I started carrying palmpilots and then phones everywhere. I did get on the smartwatch train at the start but never found a daily until the Apple Watch. Now I wear everyday for the health benefits. Can't imagine not wearing it now.

Love wearing my mechanicals but after getting the S5 it is hard to not wear it. It's been on my wrist all the time since.

I haven’t worn my G-Shock since I got the Apple Watch.

I had a quite a few G-Shocks (7/8 models) years back. At first, I didn’t want to part ways with them, but once the Apple Watch came around, I sold them. They weren’t being worn at all. I still have some decent mechanical watches, but even they don’t see as much ‘wrist time’ as my smart does.

The only downside to the G-Shock for me, was the bull with a jacket/long sleeve, it constantly would ‘snag’. Great watch, but annoying in that manner.

Same here... I held off buying an AW for years as I always preferred to wear my Rolex no date Sub since it has some kind of „soul“ because it‘s mechanical and there is actually something moving inside to tell the time accurately - plus it’s a total classic and has a perfectly clean no BS look.
Since I tipped a toe with my AW S4 the Rollie sits in the box and I practically never wear it anymore because the AW has so many features that make me ask myself why I didn‘t give it a try sooner.

I'm experiencing the exact opposite situation. I bought my S2 on release week and loved it to the point where I wore it almost daily. However since I upgraded to the S5 I found the AW lacks something that mechanical watches give me. Maybe it's just me but I'm finding myself shifting back toward old fashioned timepieces more and more.

Now don't get me wrong, I still like the AW but I don't love it and I really tried to. I bought many bands, spent hours tweaking the watch faces, wore it at memorable events ... yet I don't have this special feeling when it's on my wrist.

You should still keep your Sub even if you don't use it. I know someone who flipped his Datejust for a ceramic AW and he got seller regrets couple weeks later.

I‘ll never sell off my Sub, I love it just too much. It‘s an early 90ies one with Tritium dial, which makes it especially nice IMO :)
Shame they swapped tritium for luminova in modern watches. I love how tritium ages and the fact it stays lit for days. Not to mention, you probably get more background radiation from living in a city in a day than from wearing a tritium-dialed watch in a month.

In the winter or cooler weather when I have a long sleeve shirt/sweater on, I wear one of my mechanical watches on my left wrist and set my AW5 for use on my right wrist with the Digital Crown at the bottom. It means I get some use out of my mechanical watches while also getting the health benefits of having the AW on and it works well for me. I don’t do this in summer or hot weather if wearing short sleeves when both watches would be visible which would look a bit off.

If you use your AW as a health/fitness tracker then it almost makes sense to sport two watches.

It's hot all year-round where I live so I wear short sleeves 85% of the time. I still wear both AW and regular watch when I go for an outdoor workout. However I only wear the AW for indoor workout and only wear mechanical watches for outdoor lazying. Also I don't really care what people think of me when they see my watch-ful wrists.

S5 is my daily watch although I swap it out for my beater S2 when I work out. Have a vintage Hamilton sunburst dial mechanical or my dads old Seiko for special occasions.

Since I owned my Apple Watch Series 2 I never had other watches at my wrist. I wear my Apple watches even for official occasions, but then with a high quality leather strap.

While I do refer to my AW for time of day, if that was its only function I wouldn't wear it.

I stopped wearing a traditional watch sometime in the late 1990s - there were so many other ways I could obtain the time of day, including my cell phone, that wearing something just for the sake of the time of day became pointless. (I'm not into jewelry, so watches never had more than a utilitarian purpose for me.)

Previously I had a Garmin Vivoactive 3, for 1 year I switched to Apple Watch 3 and now I will return to Garmin Vivoactive 4.
The Apple Watch is very good but I do not take advantage of smartwatch on the contrary I suffer the disadvantages of its short battery life (1 day) and that the screen is not always on (although this is fixed in the AW5).
On the contrary, Garmin watches offer approximately 5 to 7 days without charging the watch (it is very important to me), I can always observe the time (another very important point).

I got the Series 0 in the summer of 2015. In the first few weeks I still wore my traditional watch on occasions. But very quickly, my apple watch became the only watch I wore. It just does everything a mechanical watch does, but better and it also does a lot more.

I'm currently on S3. I was v tempted for s5, but managed to resist. I will almost certainly get S6.

I also have a Garmin for running, and when I run I wear both watches. The Garmin is better for running metrics and interval training, but it's build quality, and ability to withstand wear and tear is v disappointing. After a few open water swims in the sea, the strap started to look faded. Whereas my apple watch looks as good as the day I bought it.

I'm a watch collector so I'm used to wearing different watches according to my mood or the circumstance. My Apple Watch 4 is excellent from both an aesthetic and utilitarian point of view, and I love wearing it especially with a red, white or black band. As a travelling watch it is supremely functional. Nonetheless, I'm very fond of my other watches (quartz and mechanical), and there are always days in a week when I want a different vibe than the Apple Watch. And on some trips I've found wearing the Apple Watch on one wrist and another watch on the other wrist to be just fine--I've worn analog watches since the third grade and having one handy just makes me comfortable.
