why is there such aversion against iPad pics?
I plan to buy iPad 5 when its out and I assume it will have same camera as 5/5S. Now, I have iPhone 4 so if I need to take a picture then I would automatically take it with the best camera that is on me which in this case would be iPad 5, don't you think? I don't have an iPad so I dont understand this aversion against it.
Also, when it comes to video, isn't it better to shoot it with iPad than iPhone as the iPad is more solid and easier to hold in a position so there is less shakiness etc. Don't you think?

I guess I will find out soon when I get the iPad but for now it makes sense to use the best possible too you have on you. But even if you have 5S and iPad 5 then for pics use 5S as its probably more convenient but for video it would be better with iPad, no?

I think I might have taken 1 picture total with my iPad Mini just to do it. Since the iPhone 5S camera is so much better, I just never feel it necessary to take a pic with the iPad. Plus it looks and feels awkward to hold when trying to take a picture.

I think I used my iPad a handful of times to take photos. Probably when I was without a phone for a week or two or phone was in another room charging and the iPad was closest to hand.

Never, until I saw a YouTube review of the Mini. The guy was a student, and said that he often snapped shots of others student's notes in class. I thought that was a good idea, and have taken shots of documents I'd like to have on my iPad.
This guys was an amazingly fast thumb typer, BTW! As fast as I've seen anyone type with fingers!

Wait, so your saying my iPad has a camera! lol

I think for most of us it come down to egornomics.
Holding a full size iPad steady to take a picture is difficult. (Not to mention all the attention it draws.)

I consider myself a decent photographer, but the only pics taken on my iPad are the ones made by my 3 year old. But nothing against those who use it.

I use the iPad to take photos fairly often. The DSLR is used to take the best pictures. The iPhone is used to take good pictures when I don't have the DSLR with me. The iPad is used mosty to document small parts or serial numbers when I'm working on a project. If I'm between flights I'll take a picture with the iPad to email to friends. It can be more convenient to shoot a picture on the iPad as it is ready to use. If I'm taking notes while working on something it is handy to be able to insert simple pictures.

To get better image quality I use Cortex Cam. It takes a hundred or so pictures quickly and averages them to reduce noise.

has anybody posted the maddox article about this issue yet? it's particularly good

----------

Never. Get rid of the camera, lower costs and give us more battery.

and no skyping on it? pass.
i don't take pictures with the ipad though...why? because it's a terrible camera. it wasn't designed for that kind of photography.

God they look stupid bless them. Rofl

Explain why, in your personal opinion they look stupid please.

What level of personal judgement are you using to separate what you consider normal as opposed to what you consider stupid?

Do you consider people who have permanent graphics placed onto their body stupid?

What are you judging this against to form this opinion?

Myself, I view smoking as stupid as it physically harms your body, so I feel if you partake in something that harms your body, makes you ill and almost certainly shortens your life, then that's stupid. That my criteria.

Well I don't have an iPad but have used them a bit and have to say I actually find the camera very good on them. Of course they are no replacement for an iPhone if you have the opportunity with my only issue being with iPad that the larger device makes any movement far more noticeable in a picture.

However like the old saying goes the best camera is the one you have on you.

It is a matter of convenience for me. If something interesting occurs and I happen to have my iPad in my hands, I would snap a few photos with it. Though I mainly use my phone for quick snaps as it has flash and a higher resolution.

Do you use your iPad to take photos? If so, how often?

SLR is my camera, I use iphone for emergency photos and never ipad camera for photos. Skype or Facetime is only use of it.
