I've used an average of 20 minutes/month over the past 3 months.

Mostly I use text and data to set up in-person visits with family and friends. I don't like talking on the phone. I'd rather see people in person.

I realize that I'm fortunate enough to have most friends and family nearby.

It is my only phone as we have removed our landline. My wife has her own iPhone. I use about 6 to 7 hours of talk per month; my wife maybe 3 to 4 hours. I use 15 - 20 gb of data per month because I don't use my laptop much at all and run through another 6 gb on an older iPhone that I use mainly as a tablet. I don't text much, doubt I have ever done 150 in a month.

I use 3500 or so minutes a month

Man oh man.. I don't even come close to that in the year I own the phone before I replace to the newest one lol.. I very rarely actually make a phone call.. If I do, it is a very quick one.

I'd guess maybe an average of 5-10 mins a day. Certainly a fraction of what it was 10 years ago.

Maybe only 10 minutes a month...since my mother started texting a few months ago after heavy influencing from all of us which is where most of my talk time would occur....lol

I use 350 minutes a month.

I have a 6 Euro prepaid plan with 15 GB data ( because rollover ) and plenty of minutes. Wi-fi calling, 4g calls and everything... :)

Too bad roll over minutes can't convert into extra data lol

I don't use the phone often, maybe a couple times a week according to my call log. It's either texts or email.

Very rarely I use it as actual phone, Most of time its just IM's, text and emails only.
Even sometimes I do feel the same that why do we don't use it as actual phone instead of IM

I make one or two calls per week. They might have to rethink the product name. ;-)

LOL. Funny, I was thinking the same thing. The irony is that although "phone" is the primary name, I don't think it's the primary function anymore for many. In my case, it is the least used function. It will be interesting to see if they eventually morph the name to something broader.

Again, I don't think that's the case for many, if not even most. Even on forums like this one which represent a very small sub-group of more unique type of users it seems like even this currently smaller thread already shows that plenty of people use the phone function at least to a decent degree. It might not be the primary thing for many, but still would be an important one that gets a good amount of usage.

I might make 20 minutes of calls per month. SMS/iMessage has pretty much replaced all my quick phone calls, and long calls tend to be made from my landline. Thinking about it, I'd say half my iPhone calls are from people who meant to call my landline, and chose the wrong contact number.

My iPhone's order of use is Apps, Web/Email, texting, and lastly as a phone.

On the other hand, I'm a geek! ;) I know lots of people with iPhones who use them for voice calls and text, and little else. In other words, expensive flip phones that don't fold conveniently.

You may very well be right. Plus, from a branding perspective, "iPhone" is so recognized that they probably would never change it. Still, it's interesting that other manufacturers don't use the word "phone" in the product name for their smart phones. Only time will tell I suppose.

It's just an interesting topic to discuss. You sound concerned, like someone is trying to remove the phone feature on you.

Not sure where anything about it being a not interesting topic is coming from, or especially any level on concern about it one way or another on my part.

I use about 100 (give or take) minutes a month. The majority of those minutes are used for conference calls and work calls. Very rarely do I talk on the phone for personal reasons, unless my fiancée needs a response for something right away.

2 hours since November lol ...

I hate being on the phone, for some reason i rather write 10 iMessages instead.

My mum sent me a voice message through whatsapp the other day. I was so proud
