I don't use it. Not because I have anything against it, or don't like it. (I don't even know if I have ever tested it)
I generally just forget it is there. I should make an effort to give it a fair shake.

I don't use Siri.

Instead I find Google Now a brilliant tool that's accurate, fast and efficient.

Siri is too juvenile, cutesy and contrived. Programmed to entertain and impress the easily amused it's a time waster.

Must agree with this.

But, on topic, I don't use Siri at all outside of a random query and to set alarms.

Wish it provided more relevant info and functionality.

I really wish all the people who praise Siri would spend a little bit of time using Google Now. I don't want another Android device but they have Apple beat by such a huge amount on this front it's hard to fathom. No amount of PR articles Apple can push out regarding how advanced their machine learning and AI is can cover up for the fact that Siri is a joke compared to Google and Microsoft's attempts.

1) When I have to type and I'm feeling lazy,
2) when I have to do a math equation but don't feel like searching for the calculator (because I never use it),
3) when I have to type a lot and my computer isn't anywhere around,
4) When I want to play a different song but don't feel like getting my phone out of my pocket (use apple watch),
5) Replying to a text message,
6) Calling someone,
7) Setting a one time alarm when I don't feel like rolling over in bed, or
8) Checking local movie times.

Hardly at all. I'd like to use Siri but half the time it doesn't work properly. Using Siri takes longer than if I just would've type it myself.

Google has this figured out. Works like a charm every time.

Except that weather or not Google Now or Cortana or anything like that might be better in various ways, when it comes to a stock iOS device, only Siri is able to do all kinds of integrated things on the device (like reading or sending messages, setting timers or alarms, making calls, changing some settings, etc.).

Yeah you probably wouldn't use it if it was switched off. Maybe that affects it.

My phone doesn't have the Hey Siri functionality where she's always listening (unless connected to power) so I can use it without picking up the phone, which is what I was referring to.

Rarely, I found it just doesn't work well enough for me. It either doesn't understand me or can't do what I ask it to do or says "I'm really sorry about this..." that I stopped even trying.

I know the original Maps had a bad reputation, but I've found Siri to be much worse and really hasn't improved that much in 5 years!

I use Siri daily, but the tasks are trivial. I have high expectations for so much more. So far Siri is not much more than an entertaining and marginally useful option for me. I like what I can do, but want more, much more. iOS 10 opens the door, but the impact will take more from Apple than selective 3rd party app integration. I can hope for pie in the sky or accept the incremental improvements. The latter is not that bad. I'm still shaken to my core by the first iPhone in 2007; it blew me away. I know that's not going to happen this year or likely anytime soon. But something like that will happen again in my lifetime. That's the nature of technology. We take what we can get, but then sometimes, not frequently -- the stuff we dream of but didn't really yet dream of -- happens. This kind of change is worth patience. In the meantime, life is good.

I'm a trucker and I keep trying to use Siri, but unless my service is perfect, she always messes up.
MAXSIX, Did you just download the Google app to use google all the time? I use google maps regularly and that's works perfect. Please let me know because Siri is nothing but trash out here on the highways. Thx

Every. Single. Day. I have a million thoughts a day and telling her to remind me things is a blessing since it came out.

This is exactly why it's so frustrating. It's capabilities and query recognition are so far below the competition but it's the only service on an iPhone that has integrated access. I'm not saying Apple should open up the device so Google Now is integrated - I'm saying they should stop trying to pretend Siri is amazing and just improve the damn thing.

I use Siri, but not on a regular basis. Guess it's something I should explore. I've had fun with it so far.

As it has developed over they years I have found I use it less. I may use it to set an alarm for the morning but now on IOS 10 we have that bedtime feature I just use that for the whole week if i know i'm going to be working and don't need to add an alarm each morning.

How much do you use it?

I plan to get the airpods so this might be when I use siri more just to try it on the airpods. However saying that I have an apple watch so any controls like changing songs I will just use my apple watch for.

Came from a 6 and use Siri more on my 7+. Setting alarms and looking up info for me. Easier than typing in long questions.

Seems much easier on the new phone.

Every day, but for basic tasks. Setting up reminders, alarms, checking the weather, etc. Not as good as Google Assistant, but for now, this'll do just fine.

I use it for about everything. Locking and unlocking my front/back door, turning lights on and off, or setting them to various levels. I use it for simple math, for timers, for reminders, calendar scheduling, dialing friends, and sending text messages etc. Also for Apple Music specific songs. I love it.
