How often do you wear your Apple Watch

I put it on when I wake up, then get out of bed. After going to bed at night, I take it off & put it on charge.

Y’all got a business trip coming up next week. Getting on the company bus around 5, waking up at like 3:30 to 4am to get ready. Have to work 11 hour shifts 8am to 7:30 pm for three days on the job Tuesday to Thursday , and 8am to 2:30 pm Friday. Was wondering if charging twice a day would work, I wear an Apple Watch Series 6 with perfectly 100% battery health, which a bug is displaying it as 97% on 11.3 beta 2 watchOS so pardon me.

The day prior to departure I plan to sleep track with my Watch and get to bed around 9-9:30 PM, and workout in the early morning. I appreciate any advice from any Apple Watch wearers who work in the early morning and overnights.

if you have an S6 and want to extend the battery life significantly, turn off the always on display. It makes a huge difference.

I got a Siri Shortcuts shortcut for it, thanks for sharing that. My friend also does this on his Apple Watch Series 6 Nike when we have the long day of physics class and the Watch makes it through the day. Will definitely try it out and turn off AOD when I am on the bus 🚌

Low power mode also helps; which turns off the always on display plus other things, but just setting that one option gets most of the benefit from memory.

I usually use low power mode when my Apple Watch drops below 30% and I am in middle of working out 🏋️, and if I prefer not to turn on AOD. But for the 3-4 hour bus ride on day one and on the way home I will just shut off the AOD, and then turn it back on when I arrive at work. Low power mode suppresses heart rate and blood oxygen level measurements asides from AOD.

~23/7 Only off to shower and charge.

Launch day Ultra 1, just hit 98% battery capacity on the last week of December.

Do you work during early morning hours or nights? Need an insight from Apple Watch wearers on how to minimize charging intervals, got overtime work hours coming up. See the post above 👆🏻

Thank you for the suggestion I included it in the battery endurance test that other Apple Watch Ultra users suggested for me. See results in this thread. Have a great day ahead.

I charge in the morning when I wake up for ~60 minutes. The watch is on my wrist about 18 hours each day.

1 hour… is that because the Apple Watch Ultra’s colossal battery takes longer to charge? How long do you work per day?

I can do a morning charge for 30 minutes before my shift starts at 8 during the business trip.

Usually less than an hour, but sometimes a little longer. It just depends on what I am doing. 30 minutes should give you enough juice to get through the day.

I fast charge mines too. I have tested it out to see if it can surpass 11 hours and it did. Last charge the night before then logged two workouts and low power mode/ AOD off for the workout session and mindfulness sessions. Just that I will not have as many opportunities to charge my Watch at work as we will transition from home office to moving around a lot during the day.

I plan to keep my activity challenge going so I will squeeze in a half hour session of Fitness+ bodyweight workouts when I get back to the hotel after a long workday and then charge it once I am done. Then put it back on when it’s bedtime

All day and sleep tracking most nights. For a while, I stopped wearing it as much, especially after my child was born and my partner and I were trying to get settled into our new routines. After our lives stabilized a bit, I started wearing it full time again. I'm still unsure about the constant health metrics being collected all the time. I don’t think I really need that, nice to have though if I ever do want to go through it again someday. All notifications are off except from my baby's sleep monitor, phone calls and messages.

The AW was more important when I was using my MacBook as my main portable machine, as it was very easy to sign in and authenticate things. My new iPad has Face ID, which is a lot more convenient to me and one less thing I rely on my watch for. When this Watch stops working, I'll most likely replace it with a smart ring as all I really want from it is my heart rate and sleep tracking. I'm still holding out for an Apple-built one, but may have to settle for an Oura or an Ultrahuman. But, I’m sure my opinion will change on this sometime in the next five years when I am actually due for an upgrade on it.

I wear it everyday and take it off to charge at night time. I used to wear if for sleep tracking but the battery on my series 7 doesn’t last long enough for that anymore. I’ve ordered the series 10 so I will start wearing it at night time again.

When possible (not very often ☹️,) yes.
So do you charge your Apple Watch overnight if it does not have enough battery to sleep track with it?

Also, y’all have positive news about Apple Watch battery endurance last week when I was on my business trip. Day one last Tuesday, I charged it three times— getting up in the middle of the night to get ready for the bus, lunch break, and after my shift + workout at the evening. The first overtime shift where we had to go straight to work after we got on the bus— I had AOD off, and the Apple Watch stayed strong from 95% before heading to the company bus (couldn’t charge it fully due to the limited time), to ~55% when I got to work. Mid-shift, it dipped into the twenties, so I used my laptop to plug in the charging puck and charge my watch during lunch break and then after break, I put it back on when it hit 85%. Third charge after the eleven-hour shift and working out to full. I had to do the 3 times charging routine again on day two as I had to move around a lot going to companies and touring them all day and getting a beachside view and enjoying my lunch in front of hungry seagulls. But on day three to four, I maintained a twice-charging routine as I intended it to be— as these were solely all in the office days.

i find wearing a watch is somewhat restrictive.. Like wearing a tie. I only have it on when I'm out and about. I don't use the health/sleep functions and I have clocks in the house if I need to know the time.

I have the charger on a shelf by the door. I slip the watch on when I'm leaving and the first thing I do when I return home is take it off and return it to the charger.
