Yea mine freezes occasionally in apollo if I leave it without typing and I have to unlock it with the slider thing and it freezes after I slide it across....

Mine usually freezes whenever I'm listening to music and viewing somebody's MySpace profile (especially one that has lots of pictures), or reading TUAW posts

Mine craps out usually after 3 seconds of freezing when viewing the advanced options in an email account, and viewing a YouTube file, and sometimes in Safari. It is pathetic really.

Although I don't find freezing a major problem on my iTouch (you merely have to hold down the home button to "force quit"), I have noticed and read about a ****load of minor issues on it. I'm talking about issues such as the music stopping when it hasn't even reached the end of the playlist, unresponsive buttons whilst playing media, especially whilst watching Youtube, and Safari crashing when I view multiple pages at once. I guess some of it is probably as a result of the hardware itself, but I think a lot of it can be fixed by Apple tweaking the software. It makes me wonder whether my iTouch will be able to handle all the third party apps I'll have as soon as the SDK is released :D

sometimes mine freezes when I am out in the cold.

my attempt at humor, no mine hasn't ever locked up

Mine has never locked up. I need to restart it once in a while when my car stereo for some reason decides to not recognize it, but beyond that, there are no freezing problems for me.

My iPod has frozen up several times and nothing works. Holding the home button has no effect, the music gets stuck playing the same two notes over and over again  Also, it has messed up multiple pairs of headphones (different brands even!) The only way I could fix it was by letting the battery die.

Wow, so many of these problems seem like they are with jailbroken ipods. So glad I haven't done that. Mine has never frozen.

Mine freezes when playing a playlist for a significant period - eg after around 1 hour, I'll unlock it, and It'll become unresponsive for a few seconds, even though the music continues to play. After more touching of the screen or multiple presses of the Home button, the music stops and I get kicked back to the home screen.
I get the feeling that if I don't mess with it, the music would continue to play...

It's really annoying especially at a party because the playlist has to be started again.

Mine is not jailbroken.

Is there some kind of feedback channel where these types of problems can be reported to Apple?

I Need Help

ok, my ipod doesnt just freeze up, it turns black and stays like that for like a week. I try to charge it, nothing happens. I try plugging it in my computer, my computer says: usb device unable to recognize (or something like that). This happens all the time and it pisses me off. Than when it doesnt do it for a few months, i try to jailbreak my ipod and it works fine, but then it turned black again and now im ****ed, any help please?:apple:

Non-jailbreak: it freezes every time it runs across one song in my library. I can't figure out why, because I took it from the CD years ago. Something about the file is corrupted.

Other than that it never freezes.

My non-jailbroken 2G 32GB has never frozen. Occassionally the graphics will "stick" when rotating from landscape to portrait mode or vice versa, but it's never actually crashed. I used to have a non-jailbroken 1G 16GB that would freeze about twice a week on average.

My 2G 8GB Touch froze frequently while using Safari.

Returned it to the store and got a Nano instead.

Mine never froze until 3 days ago when after turning it on, from sleep mode, and launching any app it will freeze and quit out of the app and many times just freeze completely. This morning I gave it a full shut down and restart and now it seems to be working fine.
