My current iMac is almost a year old. I used to upgrade every year back in the PC days, but since I don't play the latest games and found that Apple bring OS's out that increase the day-to-day performance of my computer. Well now I upgrade every 3 years :)

My current machine is a 5 year G4 Titanium Powerbook 667 DVI model.
Since i've had it I've upgraded the battery to a Newertech model, put in 786MB RAM, installed an 80GB 7200rpm hard drive and upgraded to Mac OSX Tiger. Its still running strong and its for this reason that I'm reluctant to buy myself a new top of the line maxed out 17" Macbook Pro.

My MacBook Pro is already 10 months old, that's the longest I've ever used a computer as my main one. And I won't be able to upgrade for at least another 9 months.

Great machine. My 800MHz one has had the HDD replaced with a 7200rpm one and RAM up to max 1GB, with 10.4.10 on it. The combo drive is finicky, the LCD sometimes craps out, and the battery is worthless, but otherwise it still "computes" like a champ.

My Mac Pro is not quite yet a year old if you go by the day I actually received it (though I ordered it just after WWDC last Aug).

About 14months....20'' ACD, 1.66Ghz Mac Mini

I had planned to upgrade after 6month of ownership, but Apple has not made an upgrade worth it(180Mhz wasn't worth it for me)

Even now a C2D Mac Mini doesn't add much I NEED...I'll wait for a while.

I've had my coveted 12" 1.5Ghz PowerBook for 2 years now. I like it so much that when I buy my wife her MacBook in Sept. I'll still like mine better :D I'm definitely in the, "Apple if you come out with a smaller MBP I'll buy one immediately" camp. Seriously though, the only thing my PB won't do for me is run the new iLife suite as fast as I'd like, everything else runs quickly enough as to not be distracting so why upgrade to a piece of hardware (MB) that doesn't excite me (I like the PB's keyboard much better and it has better fit and finish than the MB but I don't want something as large as the 15" MBP).

OT: Sniff ... sniff ... is that hops I smell? Yup, I think I'll have a beer tonight.

My PB is 38 months old and still going strong. Had to have the combo drive replaced under warranty, and upgraded the hdd recently.
My iMac is 65 months old. Since it is basically just a web browser at this point, I can live with it.
I'd love to get a MBP, but I can wait.

my MBP is 14 months old now... hard to believe it's that old already! still works like a charm... and I have peace of mind now with my cloned external drive:)

I'm chugging along encoding video in Imovie 6 and Final Cut Express with a PowerMac G4 Digital Audio 733 MHz. Waiting patiently for the next Mac Pro.

my current machine is a almost 3 year old 12" powerbook, and an iMac G3 that I got free a few months ago and I am not sure how old it is.

I still miss my 12" powerbook. For my taste it was the best mac ever built, but I am highly biased since it was my first :)

PowerBook G4 1.67

Got it on release. 2 years and 7 months or thereabouts.

I'd love to upgrade, but realistically it's not happening any time soon.

I want to travel before I get a new Mac.

2001 Quicksilver
Dual 800MHZ G4
1.25GB RAM
200GB Hard Drive
USB 2.0 Card
Airport
Radeon 9600 Pro (Core Image & QE)

Pretty Good Machine, When Not Doing Any Real Work.

My dual 2.0 Ghz Power Mac G5 is now 4 years old - still running strong. Need to replace the hard drive and get more ram. Hopefully by the end of this month it will have 4 GB of RAM and 1 TB of hard drive space (before formatting of course).

Still can't find a reason to sell

I don't really do a lot professional rendering stuff, so I still couldn't find a reason to go for a Mac Pro. My original setup still pleases my eyes. Apple did a damn good job with there last G4 edition. Never had a single problem.

:):):)

Thank you Apple !!

1 ghz AlBook I bought around fall 2003, which would make it about 4 years old. It still does basically everything I ask it to. And that's awesome, but I'm definitely at the stage where I'm getting consumer lust for a new machine.

My PowerBook 12" is 4 years and 2 months old! It has never had a problem that has not been easily fixed in half an hour.
An imminent upgrade to 1152MB RAM and a new battery will help it to keep going for another few years.

I just replaced my old system two days ago with a Mac Mini (temporary until my iMac arrives). My system was a G4/800 Quicksilver PowerMac. I had it for almost 6 years, I think.
