I currently use my Single 1.8GHZ PowerMac G5. I'm still using 10.3.9 so I think thats why it performs a little below par.

I received a PowerMac G4 Cube a month ago; but only have it to collect. It does have 10.4.. but it can't even play a CD without locking up. I don't want to put money for upgrades in it anytime soon.

I might just throw my money at a new Mac after Aug 7th; depending what they show.

8 year old iMac G3 233mz. bondi blue.
Still running classic OS9.2.2. Decided not to upgrade till i decided exactly what i want. I really want a 30/40some inch LCD, embedded processors, Mac OS leopard with all the bells, whistles, broadband and TV connectivity.

An old girl now

10th Sept 2000, the old girl was built, soon to be retired and replaced.

G4 500MHz Dual Proc
1GB Ram
DVD ROM
120 GB HD
Tiger

17" CRT Apple Studio Display.

Never had a problem with either of them.

My PowerMac is from 2001:

733MHz G4
1.12GB RAM
2 x 120GB HDs
CD-RW

Tiger.

I'm planning to upgrade the graphics card, swap the CD drive for a DVD-R and swap the 128MB RAM board for a 512MB one.

The ol' guy has never given me any problems in the 6 years I've owned him. :)

Mac Pro quad 2.66GHz. Got it when they launched.

About six or eight months ago doubled the RAM to 4GB and added three more 500GB HDDs. But other than that, no reason to want anything new.

What are you thinking about replacing this with?

My PowerBook G4 just turned 4 years old last month and it's still alive and kicking. I think I'm going to drop some more RAM in it in the next few months or so. You know, it's really the wonder machine: it's been dropped from three and a half feet onto tile floors, fallen (inside its bag) out of trucks, gotten a new HD and suffered many dents.

My iMac G5 turns two about the end of this month. It needs some more RAM, too. It's still just got the stock (err, pitiful) 512 MB and I'm definitely feeling it when Folding@Home is going.

Still using the Mac mini in my sig. It's almost a year old now. The original warranty is about to run out shortly.

I plan on replacing it with a new iMac VERY soon.

My 2.7GHz PowerMac was DOA when I bought it in 2005 and AppleCare came out to my house and swapped out the motherboard to fix it. I presume this is why coconutIdentityCard can't identify the machine's origin or build date and reports that my machine seems to be stolen.

Not too impressed.

my three main systems are all G4 PPC.

Work: a dual 867 MDD with 2 GB Ram and 32 MB VRAM, 3 x 250 GB drives

Home: Sawtooth upgraded to dual 1.3 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 64 MB VRAM, 2x 120 GB drives + 500 GB External (fast as hell)

Mobile: PowerBook G4 1.67 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 128 MB VRAM, 100 GB HD

I also have a PB 3400c, 500 MHz iBook G3, 700 MHz iBook G3, 500 MHz Ti PB, a 300 MHz B&W, and a Newton (packed in a box somewhere :()

I plan on getting new video cards for my main two G4 desktops for the Leopard switch. Other than that I don't plan on upgrading to intel machines until after Leopard's run is over.

Until late June 2007 I had (and still have) a MDD Dual 1.25, but that computer was trouble since day one. While it wasn't awful, it just always had some irksome thing going on with drives or video cards, etc. Had it 4.5 years, and have maxed out drives and memory, as well as available video cards. It was slow with publishing since I do 1200dpi picture files.

Now I have a dual 2.66 tower. Wonderful! Got rid of so much hassle, is cleaner, quieter. So happy.

Also have:

PowerBook G4 1.5 Brushed Aluminum (3 years old)
80 Gig
2 GB memory
(This is still a brilliant mobile writing/email/internet/movie machine.)

Original Orange 333 Mhz Clamshell iBook (8 years old this month)
20 Gig drive
500 MB memory
(Haven't used this in 3 years, but it is a great backup just in case)

My Mac Mini 1.66 Core Duo is going to be a year old in about a week. Not one single problem :)

My first gen iMac G5 is about 2.7 years old... I think I'm overdue for an upgrade. I'm looking forward to see those new iMacs on Tuesday.

I'm sporting a G4 1.25 Powerbook. Near the end of this month, with or without updates I'm getting a Mac Pro 2.66 (or better if updates, hope, hope) and 30 inch Cinema Display.

I've got a MacMini G4 1.33Ghz that I got just before the Intels came out (D'oh!). I've also got a 400MHz Titanium G4 Powerbook which I use on a daily basis, lugging it around in my briefcase as I have since I got it (when they first came out) and it hasn't missed a beat. Before that I had a 300MHz G3 Powerbook which served me well too. I also have a PowerMac G3 MiniTower 300MHz running 8.6 which I also had from new (must make it about 12 years onld now?) with a 2nd graphics card, 2 Apple 17" Studio displays (bought at the same time) and 320Mb RAM. Every now and again, I still use it for running Photoshop and it's not as pedestrian as you might think! Looking at ordering a new 24" iMac once I've seen what's announced tomorrow.

I got one in late august of last year.

By far, the best machine I've ever owned (apart from maybe my old G4 450).

iMac: exactly 10 months and one day
MacBook: Two and a quarter months
MacBook Pro: Less than two months
