As for the battery, I'm not to concerned about it, but I might try taking this with me when I travel because of the size. I noticed Apple doesn't sell the batteries for this. Are the after market batteries giving you the battery life issues?

I purchased a replacement battery about 8 months ago at the :apple: store in Covent Garden and knew they also sold them online. I was surprised by your comment and checked online and you are right, they no longer sell the replacement battery.

This means I have no other real option when my battery gives out an even worse performance than now. I will have to upgrade to a new Mac which is exactly what :apple: wants us to do.

My mid-2009 13" MBP is almost 6 years old. It still chugs along as a secondary desktop replacement machine. My late-2013 13" rMBP is a year and a half old and runs perfectly. I plan to keep it for another few years.

I have a 2010 mbp that still works pretty well but is a bit slow and I think the 4gb of ram is somewhat limiting at this point in time. I have been debating getting a new MacBook or MacBook Pro or even waiting for a newer MacBook Pro possibly next year

One of the advantages to using old PowerBooks. External, easily replaceable batteries.

My youngest Mac is a 2006 17" MBP (A1151). Got it about two weeks ago and it is the only Intel Mac I own.

I am typing this on a 2001 PowerMac G4 Quicksilver. My oldest Mac is a Mac IIci, which still works.

Mine is a late 2013 model 2.6/8/256

The mac I am using is about four years. old. (mid 2010 version)

I am expecting another four to five years and I think that is realistic. I hope it will last that long.

I just switched the HDD with a SSD on it.

I think it is realistic. If you have 8GB RAM to couple that SSD, you are especially set. 4 GB might be enough for you though.
