i want to know how you have 275 movies and its only taking up that much space!!! i have 50 movies and thats over 100gigs, so if i had as many movies as you do that would be like 500 gigs?

Because they weren't done right. I've been playing with the settings to get the movies and TV shows able to be played on both my Apple TV and my iPod Touch, and I finally found the right balance. I just need to go through and redo all those movies. *exasperated sigh*

Welcome to the club... I sometimes wish the Handbrake devs would take half a year off or so; everytime I think I'm catching up on my backlog of encodes to do, they release some new feature that makes me start all over again at the beginning. :D

I know what you mean. The only thing that makes it worth doing at this point is the fact that I finally learned how to copy over tag information from one file to another in metax without having to copy it all over individually. That'll save me days of time and frustration.

ahh, the joys of re-encoding.

This will be my 3rd time with this particular set of 150 movies or so. The first time I had ripped them all and converted, and was tagging the final few when my brother accidentally knocked it onto the floor, effectively killing the drive. The second time is the current stage in which point I thought the resolution was the only factor to be iPod Touch compatible, only to find that the sound type wasn't fit for iPod, only Apple TV. Now comes the 3rd (and hopefully final) time. Hooray.

Latest TV Show Library

Finally upgraded to a RAID protected 1TB drive and this is what I have so far. I love the new grid view. Makes all the time I took tagging worth it.

Anyone know the status of getvideoartwork.com? They haven't really had much in the way of updates lately...

They're slow, but updates still occur. They have some information in the forums section. It just looks like they're focusing on potentially changing the look of the site instead of continuing to provide the service they started the site for in the first place.

i havent bought any iTunes movies. just rips and bought elsewhere.

I deleted all of my films - with the exception of iTunes purchases - to make room on the HD for more TV shows.

I'm currently ripping series one and two of Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights.

Gentle reminders for all users in-lining their images.

1) PLEASE use the TIMG tag for any large image... particularly for anything significantly more than 500 pixels wide or tall. Users may click in TIMG'd images to see them in full size.

2) Please do not quote other people's images unless really necessary.

3) Also please take the time to convert your images to JPEG to save the internet from that great sucking sound of bandwidth being shredded. ;)

Thank you!

I'm suprised none of you have the Batman or Star Wars series! Haven't seen it on one person's!!

I have both "The Batman" and "Batman Beyond" in mine. Hope to get the original "Batman" now that they have a box set out. I have Star Wars now, but didn't when I made my screenshots a couple weeks ago. :p

Good! :D
Which original you talking about? they consider the 60's one to be the original and also the 80's one to be. It's dumb, I know, but they do consider them both to be original.

Well here is my movie collection. Pretty much done all my movies now.

Will post my tv shows another time, got some major tagging to do before I can provide a good screenshot. ;)

Thanks billabong!!!

If the show is in iTunes, get it from there...

Here is how.

1. Browse in iTunes to the desired show and RIGHT-CLICK copy iTunes URL
(http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewTVSeason?id=192599752&s=143441) looks like that
2. Go to this site here http://tpemble.urfbownd.net/itunes/itunes-art.php
3. Paste your iTunes URL in there and click SUBMIT
4. your get a link like this http://a1.phobos.apple.com/r10/Features/c2/27/b7/dj.jvzokecp.170x170-75.jpg
5. Delete the 170x170-75. part of it
and you get this

Very nice post. thank you very much...

First, I apologise if this has been asked before within this thread. I have read some of the pages, but it seems to me that the majority in this thread have awesome collections, which come from purchased DVDs. I have very few purchased DVDs and tend to download movies, music and tv shows from various sources. Movies and tv shows tend to come in a range of formats from .avi, .mkv etc.

My question is if anyone here has a well organised collection of movies, music and tv shows that has been acquired online rather than purchased media? If so, what type of quality is the movies and tv shows that you download and do you reencode before you organise in iTunes? I ask because I am about to start organising all my media and I'm not sure how to go about it with media downloaded online, which is mostly already encoded into a different format from the source format.

Thanks

I'm not gona say I download movies online (......) but if I were you, I would go to www.mozy.com and buy like a 4 dollar online hard drive and keep the movies there to save HD space, and whenever you wana watch a movie download it from your online HD.
