As long as you use 64bit encoding I don't believe so, I've streamed 15Gb shows without issues (at 1280x720p25, 4000Kbps).

Cheers, Ed.
How did you get 15GB from a video file encoded at 4000kbps max I have seen is 6GB (depending on length).

A video at 4000Kbps should not be more then ~4gb. Unless you are talking about all the LOTR movies in a single file or something.

4000/8=500Kbytes per second * 3600 = ~1.8Gb per hour

Now note that I didn't mention anything about the "show" being a movie, since then it would be 8hrs long.

It was the Olympic coverage in HD recorded from DVB-T.

Cheers, Ed.

Here's mine. Over 179 movies and 37 seasons from various tv shows.

I see you have Jericho. Man, that show was SOOO awesome. However, when they canceled it, and turned the next 2-3 seasons into 2-3 episodes to try and end it... I was so pissed that I just deleted it all. What a waste!

That should be against the law. ;)

I know and now the rumor is that there may be a big screen movie on it. By the time I update this next I hope to have all of Friends and 24.

A big screen movie to close out the show's story, or a big screen movie about how lame it is when companies ruin shows in that fashion?

A big screen movie to close out the show. I wouldn't mind seeing a movie about how broadcasters ruin their shows.

Just curious. I would like to get some season passes for some TV shows. The TV shows and movies on iTunes are still wrapped in DRM correct? Do you buy your TV shows on DVD and then encode them? Also I have read that you have to change a setting in Handbrake to a 64 bit to be able to play a movie that is over 4gb. Can someone tell me where this setting is located. I think it's in the advanced settings, but not sure which option it is.

It's the 'Use Large File Sizes' Check box on the main window, I believe.

I went trough several different phases of organizing my movies. First phase was just creating an alias of my movies folder in my Movies folder so i could watch them trough front row.

After that, i tried organizing all my files trough iTunes. However, i did not convert them to .mp4, but rather created reference movies that i would place into iTunes instead. That way i saved a lot of time and maintained quality of the files. iTunes didnt work out because i didnt like the way it organized series. I would have preferred an option to organize my series in a format of "Series>Season>Shows" instead of the iTunes default of "Series season>Show".

Finally, after some major batch renaming, i switched to Plex, and its been managing my files ever since. I like the fact that it fetches data automatically, allowing me to simply watch the movies and shows rather than constantly maintain my collection. Also, it works the same way as Front Row, that is, it organizes shows in the "Series>Season>Show" format.

Only just started adding movies to my iTunes library since I bought an Elgato Turbo.264 for the old Powerbook. Hope to add many more, but my mac is screaming at me!!! I need a new one

well, i just bought the appletv 2 weeks ago so my collection is in the infancy stage, but i'm working on ripping 120'ish DVDs. no tv shows just yet. i'm using metax to help fill in the info and a combination of mtr and hb to rip the shows.

it's somewhat exciting to know i can rip my collection and then put the DVDs in a box somewhere.

cheers,
keebler

All re-encoded with Handbrake's 'Universal' preset.

My MacBook's hard drive is now 90% full, so I have another 15 movies on an external hard drive. And there are still a lot more on my shopping list!
