How satisfied are you with your MacBook Pro?

the 13 inch is suppose to be twice as fast as last years so, i can see its better than last years! LOL

Haha, I meant do you think it will perform as well as the 15" MBP with the 256MB ATI card inside? I mean I know it won't perform as well in a frame rate war whilst playing a game but for the other stuff like exporting and all other uses.

Whoever voted 10/10 is lying to themselves. You cannot be completely satisfied, there is no such thing. There is ALWAYS room for improvement.

I voted 7/10 for my 13" MBP 2011.

I love the hardware, but I wish it could be as light as the MBA without such a thin profile.

I wish the battery lasted for hours on end.

I hope for a better resolution.

I could go on forever...But one thing is certain. Any other notebook would definitely get a score of 4/10 or lower so that makes my satisfaction of 7/10 a very good score.

I've had mine for a little over a year now and haven't experienced a single issue (knock on wood) with mine. Having recently installed Lion, things seem to be a little more snappier than SL. Once 512GB SSD's start coming down in price then I'll upgrade the HD in mine and everything should be sweet.

Hands down best laptop I have ever owned. Owned Dell's, Ferrari's, Asus and Toshiba's. Of course technology has improved and it doesn't hurt I'm running
ssd drive and 8gb of ram. Couple that with Prarallels running Windows 7 to boot and is a win win situation.

I would've given it a perfect score instead of a 9 if the MBP had the anti-glare coating that is on the MBAs. Don't know if it's possible to have that coating on a glass screen though.

Its great. This is my second MBP. I just have to get used to Lion which came pre installed. I give it a 10

I gave it a 10 because I can't think of any way that it could be improved that would increase my enjoyment from using it. This is my first Mac in 20+ years and going from my last laptop, it's like the difference between night and day! Even when my laptop was brand new, I MIGHT get 3 hours on the battery on a good day. With my MBP, I get 5+, depending on what I am doing. The screen resolution is better, it is lighter, and it runs OS X! What more could I ask for?

I gave it a 10 because that's how satisfied I am with my new MBP 15. I bought it knowing exactly what it's capabilities were and what limitations it had. I have had numerous Windows PCs, with the emphasis is on "have had" and "numerous". They have all gone by the way-side. I have loaded Windows 7 using Bootcamp and I play Fallout New Vegas better than I ever have on any Windows PC that I've owned. The graphics right now on this machine are better than what I have in my desktop!

So yes, I'm happy with what I bought. My MBP does exactly what it expected to do and not do.

my first mbp was the first gen unibody. i'd give it an 8, mostly because it had more backlight bleed than i'd have liked. i say 'had' because amazingly the bleed went down over time, to the point where it is next to imperceptible, and yet the screen as a whole is still very bright. i had the superdrive and a bulging battery replaced under applecare, but the repairs were quick and painless. the 9400m occassionally flickers a row of pixels, but never anything major, and i use the 9600 most of the time anyway.

i recently got a 2011 mbp, and for the month i've had it, i'd be very tempted to give it a 10. the speed boost (almost 3x over the 2008) has been great for my work, the temps are good, runs silent unless i'm pushing it with a render, and the hi-res screen is great. of course its long term reliability remains to be seen, so a rating at this point probably doesn't really mean much.

overall i'v had pretty good luck with my macs. i still have a powermac g5 that never had a single repair. its rarely used, but when i do have it on, it runs the same as when i bought it. likewise the 2008 mbp runs as good or better (backlight improved + ram upgrade) than when i bought it, and for casual computing tasks, i wouldn't know the difference between it and my new machine.

I'm pretty satisfied, except for issues with Flash. My internet experience has been sub-par, with constant switching of browsers to find one that will play certain media this time, just to have more problems next time.

Well, there's the 15" too.
It's the thinnest 15", so no complaints there.
The battery lasts hours on end.
1680x1050 hi-res screen.
10/10

The 6750M is a giant leap from the 330M. In all respects it's much faster.

And indeed it is. Never said it wasn't. Unfortunately it's not in my MBP. Mine came with the 6490M. The question asked was how satisfied I am with mine. I answered it. Sorry if I offended anyone.

I rated mine 9.
I have the Mid 2010 15" MacBook Pro
2.53GHz with 8GB RAM and 500GB HDD.

I reverted back to Snow Leopard, I'm a videographer, and boy some plugins and softwares aren't compatible at all! ;) I'm very impatient when it comes to software updates, so i just went back.

Anyways the machine is great. Only complaint is, it could be somewhat a little faster. I just got it a week ago from my buddy, it's in awesome condition. had the speck case since day 1

[Also does anyone know of any good deals on external. Price range of 40-69, 500GB and above? Thanks :) ]

I said 8

two problems: battery life isn't as good as it should be since i updated to Lion (and yes i have reset my SMC more than once)

although i need the screen size and real estate, the size can get a little unwieldy (there were only 2 backpacks at REI that it actually fit in...)

Call me old-fashioned, but my late 2006 MBP C2D 2.16 / 3GB / 500GB still does the job for me.
Web, Office, Itunes, and the occasional editing of RAW files in Aperture (that's where I wish it had a little more HP).
It's turning 5 this year, but I just don't see why I should throw it away when it's still working (and still looks good).
Never had a problem with it.

After 5 years, I'd still give it a 7/10.
More speed, a new screen and unibody would certainly be nice, but I'll stay on the sideline for now.

As a recent Win convert--Well the graphics on my 2011 MBP 15" 2.0 suck. Big assumption on my part thinking a massive performance upgrade of Sandy Bridge would merit poorer graphics chips than last year's model.

I was also partial to having Blu Ray, HDMI and ESATA. Other than that, I'm very impressed by the quality.

How does the 6490M on the lower-end macbook pro perform?

my only regret, which is nothing on apple, is buying my SSD without the knowledge that i can't upgrade the firmware without jumping through holes in order to do so.

as for the mpb, i love it.

I had to return my MacBook Pro (2011, 15") after only 1.5 weeks of owning it due to it randomly rebooting. It progressively got worse; to the point of it taking several reboot attempts before it could reach the OS X login screen. So far, I am very happy with the replacement.

Side Note:
It was custom configured via Apple.com (added 7200RPM HDD), but the local Apple store exchanged it for a new one. In order to exchange it in store, I was restricted to the stock that they had on hand (after paying the difference). I ended up with a 17" MacBook Pro (with a slower HDD and without Lion).

After speaking to Apple support on the phone I was under the impression that they could not exchange custom configured products. The manager also stated that they could not exchange it. It just happened that one of the employees at the Genius Bar transferred from an office position and explained to the manager that exchanges were possible.
